  • I've already read that :) . I'm not asking about cutting out the background of the sprite. I'm asking about making a transparent image in Photoshop and saving it as PNG so that it saves the alpha channel.

    Then importing it in C2. Will it affect performance? <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I found the old backup capx file in Recycle Bin. Thank god. I've restored it. It feels like I've been given a second birth.... <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Now, I'm keeping the backup file on a different folder, in a pendrive and also on dropbox. <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I was using Construct 2 when I got bluescreen of death and my computer restarted. Now, whenever I try to open my .caproj file I get this error:

    I tried renaming MyProject.capx.backup1 to MyProject.capx. And tried opening it. But I get this:

    Please, help me. I've worked really hard on this project. And I'll literally burst into tears if it won't fix.. :

  • It's not disabled for free edition users, it should in fact always be enabled without being able to turn it off. However we had issues with the start page crashing some people's computers, and weren't able to fix it since it was a rare and difficult to reproduce problem. Instead if Construct 2 detects it crashed last time it ran it will disable the start page. Unfortunately in the free edition the option is still disabled so you can't turn it back on again... you could try just pressing the 'Start page' button on the ribbon to get it back.

  • C2 was working perfectly before. But today when I opened it, it had no startpage. Now, when I go to preferences, I see "show start page" unticked and greyed out with written "licensed only".

    So, is the start page disabled for free users? Why?

  • Yes, i noticed the differences between App Lab and XDK, when i used Test Anywhere on one of my games with my iPod Touch 4 and it shows black screen, i had no idea why.

    Also, i exported with directCanvas

    I've the exact same problem.

  • Are you using some custom plugins? Directcanvas sometimes doesn't like them.

    While I'm here, I have another question:

    1. If my main aim is to develop the game for iPhone/Android devices, Is it bad to use big sprites? (I created big sprites so that it looks good on retina display iPad's too) Will it reduce my performance?

    2. My tiled - background image turned into a white image. I know that appMobi is in beta. But to those who've created their games using appMobi, is there a way to get around this?

    3. What are some fundamental suggestions to make a game that runs smoothly on mobile devices?

    Is there any other tools like AppMobi which can boost performance?

    CocoonJS is not an option because it needs Mac to test on iOS and needs a paid version of Construct 2.

  • The game plays fine on the simulator in PC. But after trying it on my iPhone, all I see is black screen.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Platformer?

    I can try using appMobi and directConvas to speed it up.

    And, I'm not creating the game for PC, I'm creating it mainly for mobile phones.

    Is there any platformer based games made with Construct 2 for Android/iOS?

  • I tried testing it on my iPhone 3G, but it was very slow and unplayable. The player sprite was all messed up.
