  • ey great game in perspective!

What about thinking of AZERTY keyboards ahah?

For sure I keep an eye on your game!I'll add in alternate control schemes eventually, it just isn't a priority just yet. Sorry for any inconvenience.

    veryone's talking about the "bandits"

I can't find them anywhere :( aha sorry. The bandits are currently out pillaging another village, come back another time (I changed the level design since I first posted the game and they aren't currently present. I will be adding them back in soon though!)

  • Updated the game just now if anyone wants to try it out. Added a new enemy, and did a lot of tweaking. The opening stages are starting to come together. My next goal is to expand upon the first dungeon, adding in more enemies, some puzzles, platforming, and a boss battle.

  • o you ever describe what those yellow things on the ground do? The guy in the blue robe in town talks about the recall stone ".. warp back to town while out adventuring" but it just sends me to those yellow circles. I thought those were save points, ha.

Fort /-P/r/x\A/ GObLyN - is that on purpose?

The sound effect when you drink potions seems loud.

The game is quite fun though. Was sad when I got to the end and didn't level. xD hose yellow things are checkpoints/save-points. Once I set it up so you can save/load games, you can use those to do so, while refilling your health and mana. I'm also currently using them as "bind" points, where you go to when you die/warp. Eventually I will have separate bind points for towns where you respawn/warp.

I'm going to be fixing the sign lol It's going to say Fort Praxia, with Praxia crossed out and replaced with "goblyn." That's intentional, but more of a placeholder than anything.

I think I forgot to set the volume for the potions. Also, don't forget to turn in your slime vials for bonus XP :) Thanks for the feedback!

  • WOW! Thanks for all the feedback, everyone! I'm glad you're all having fun trying my game out.

ool game. Though I would consider not using the "F" key for the fullscreen button, because F11 already does that job pretty well (I pressed it a couple times by mistake). Love the side quests and inventory system and I'm looking forward to more. actually forgot to disable that key. If you read the instructions.html file, I recommend using F11. I'll take out the 'F' Fullscreen in the next update.

retty awesome. Love the quest turn in and level up sounds =D hose sounds are from Everquest, and are actually the only unoriginal parts of this game. There's nothing like leveling up and hearing an emphatic 'DING' to signify your new-found power.

    an, your game is amazing!

That's exactly that kind of game I wanted to create when I was creating "This is Cute: Episode 1". Unfortunately, with the 100 events limits, this was just impossible. Anyway, back to your game!

I really liked it. I don't know if I beat the game (at least, that part of the developed game since it's still on development.) I was able to get 5 hearts and went to the Fort and bandit's cave. I don't know if there are other stuff to do in the game. I got the shield and the fire spell. Congratulations man! Really good game. his demo ended up running just short of 300 events. If you got the 'fire' scroll, the shield, and the two heart-containers, you pretty much beat the demo.

pam clicking on accepting recall stone gives me unlimited recall stones woot!aha! There's no advantage to having multiple Recall Stones, but I agree it is fun :) Eventually the Recall Stone will have a cooldown (10mins probably).

weet! A bit difficult to play due to the fact that I am left-handed, but all in all, a fantastic job. The bandits kicked the snot out of me. I guess I should have taken the ladder. Next time. will have alternate control schemes eventually. I want the game to played either by mouse/keys, or just keyboard or gamepad. It simply just isn't a priority right now. Also, the shield makes fighting the bandits MUCH easier. Get that from the fortress above the bandits cave.

Thanks again for all the great feedback! I'll keep you guys up-to-date with the status of my project.

  • Haha, Thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to scrub out a few clouds in the background when I get a chance. Glad you enjoyed it! :)

    GENRE: Platformer/RPG

    RELEASE DATE: Winter 2012

This is an early demo of a Platformer/RPG I'm working on (The title isn't even final). This is a fairly big project that started out originally with me simply trying to learn the in's and out's of Construct 2. What came to fruition is a really fun demo of a Platformer/Adventure/RPG which I hope to complete by the end of the year. I only hope I don't get constrained by Construct 2's limitations.

    Some of the features:

    • Full manageable 5x5 inventory
    • Randomized loot
    • Experience + Level-Up system
    • Intuitive combat
    • Large world to explore, filled with secrets to discover

Keep in mind that, while I have done a lot of work on this project, this is far from completion. The graphics (especially the poor excuse for a title-screen/logo) do not fully represent the final product. Although they will be presented in the 8-bit-esque style seen in the demo/screens (I am an awful artist, this minimalistic style is how I compensate for it).

If you think you're up for the challenge, then

    COMMENCE THE ADVENTURE!
