  • This was a bad design choice. I don't have the money for a license at the moment and so I was wanting to get a jump start with the provided tutorials. Nowhere does it say that you must purchase a license in order to complete the platform tutorial and if it does, it is not clear. Also, thank you dben428 for the link to the other tutorial. I appreciate it.

  • I tried looking through the manual and searched the forums for an answer and did not find one.

My question: What types of variables are used for the global, local, and instance variables as far as numbers are concerned? Are they regular "int" variables with ranges between -32,768 and 32,767 or "long" variable types ranging between -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647? Or can I make that decision on a case by case basis?

    I appreciate in advance any knowledge on this matter. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hello! My name is Oscar. I have been aspiring to get into games development for the past year or so. I have always been interested in making games. When I was in high school, lived at home, and had zero money, I asked for Klik & Play for my birthday. At the time (1998), it was the only software available that let young aspiring game designers make simple games without requiring any programming. I remember taking it up to school in my computer class and working on my own Zelda type games and I even tried making a top-down remake of Silent Hill using my own mouse-drawn graphics and animations. Unfortunately, Klik and Play didn't allow for scrolling so each level was static. I wish I still had the files from back then. Anyway, I am excited to find Construct 2 as it reminds me of the old Klik & Play but with much better capabilities and features for deployment that are near unmatched. Let's make some games!
