There has been a horrible glitch in construct 2 for a while now. Every project I start get's it's Capx file corrupted at one point or another and all the sprites' image files are lost when I save. At first I thought it was because I was pressing CTRL + S to save multiple times quickly, but I've stopped doing that and this still happens. I get an error message for every sprite in the game that says "Failed to load texture" and after I click "OK" on all of them I get a message that says "Project missing files". When I click "OK" on that, I get to Construct 2 and all the sprite objects are there, but their images are not. This has happened on 3 different computers, one running Windows 7, one running Widows 8.1 and one running Windows 10. This happens on EVERY Capx I make sooner or later, and is REALLY annoying.

    Description of Capx

____ Concise description of what this CapX does ____

The bug occurs when the file is opened, and is unaffected by the events/what the game does. This game mostly used third party plug-ins, so I had to remove them and their events for people who don't have the plug-ins.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Step 1: Open the Capx file with Construct 2
    • Step 2: A "Failed to load texture" error message will pop up. Read it, and Click "OK"
    • Step 3 The "Failed to load texture" error message will pop up once again for each sprite object in the game. Keep clicking "OK"
    • Step 4: After the "Failed to load texture" error messages, there will be a "Project missing files" Error message. Read that and click "OK".
    • Step 5: Go the the project bar (They might not appear in the object bar; They didn't for me) and double-click the sprite objects "barThing", "Emblem", "NetNavi" and "RETURN". You will see that their animations have no images, even though they used to before the bug happened.

    Observed Result

    ____ What happens? ____

I get error messages when opening the Capx file and the sprite objects' images don't show up.

    Expected Result

____ What do you expect to happen? ____

The sprite objects' images to show up and no error messages.

  • I downloaded it onto my tablet, and I like it. Its a lot of fun and when I played it I kept wanting to try again. Good job!

  • Sorry, the link didn't work. Here's a screenshot instead:

  • This project is a few months old, and I have stopped working on it until recently (which is why there are only 2 levels and no character animations). It is an isometric 2D platformer.

  • Hi there, everyone!

I've just posted my first game on Google Play. The game is called "Don't Shoot the Planets!" It's deliberately difficult to give you a fun challenge, and it's easy to learn and addictive. Gameplay is simple: the aliens fly by the missile guns, and you have to shoot missiles at the right time to destroy them! But if the missile misses the alien and hits a planet instead, the planet blows up, and you lose!

Remember, it's harder than it sounds!

Please post your high score and what you think...

  • While it is difficult to play some types of games with touch controls the vast majority of people who own Android devices do not have gamepads for their devices. If you published a gamepad-only Android game you would not have as many downloads as a version with touch controls. Also, the nVidia Shield isn't very popular, so you probably wouldn't get very many downloads if you published for that, either. Modern Combat 5, a first-person shooter for Android that has touch controls, has over 100,000 downloads, and most people who have that game probably aren't using gamepads. This proves that people will buy an android shooter game, even if it has touch controls.

    I hope that helped

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • You did a great job! Don't Touch The Flames is a perfect mix of fun and challenge, which makes a fun game. I did not see any flaws and I look forward to your next game!

  • Try exporting it. That will give you a better idea of how it will preform as an actual app.

  • [attachment=0:3tkr0y0p][/attachment:3tkr0y0p] Try this. Of course, you can replace the "On destroyed" with anything you want.

  • It worked fine for me. I tested it on chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox, and both circles were destroyed.

  • Has Mopub approved you in the marketplace yet? If not, then you'll get test banners instead of normal ad banners until you are. If you don't see any banners at all, that's because ads don't appear 100% of the time, or the companies that choose which apps they put ads in just haven't chosen to put add in your game yet (but they will eventually) possibly because it is still in it's Alpha state. I know from experience.

    I hope that helped.

  • I like your game. It is a lot of fun. One thing I noticed that you maybe would want to change is when the space ship comes into view it is always blue, then it changes color. Maybe it should change color when it appears. That's just a suggestion, and it isn't important, its just me being nitpicky. But overall, I like your game. It is entertaining, and that is all I think a game needs to be.

  • Your game is a lot of fun! You did a really good job! The sound effects/music is good (Better then what I could do...) and the graphics look great! My high score s only 4... It took me forever to get there (poor drowning cows)...

  • I don't know about exporting to an iOS app (I don't have a Mac computer, which is needed to export to iOS), but testing it in CocoonJS won't work due to it not currently supporting speech recognition.

  • I had the same problem. I did some research, and unfortunately Construct 2's speech recognition doesn't currently work on Android.
