  • ByR You'll need to store its X and Y vectors in two variables at portal entry, then destroy the old object and create the new one at the portal, setting its vectors again with R0j0's algorithm.

  • If you want a gradient, you can make a tiny image then stretch it as far as you want - it will still look smooth.

  • Yep, Whiteclaws is correct. If you set the angle it will naturally flip so just mirror it.

  • I'm not speaking from personal experience but from what I've heard this is pretty much the situation. If your dream is to make an app, do it! Just remember that the amount of plays you get isn't necessarily a relection on its quality.

This is a really honest article from a developer who's been through it all.

EDIT: If you're interested in profit, you might want to have a look at this detailed survey.

  • I'm fairly sure the images are flushed from memory. If not, it seems like layout-by-layout loading would be pretty much useless. Ashley can you confirm?

  • This post is really old... I'm pretty sure he found someone (or took up the role himself).

  • If you had questions you asked in the forum that went unanswered, the problem is probably that your questions was a little broad or unclear.

Either that or it was a difficult problem, in which case you should just bump the topic after at least 24hours.

  • Glad it worked out for you.

  • Is this what you're after?

  • I think the biggest problem you will face is the fact that the iOS and Android markets are hugely saturated. Unfortunately, it seems like it doesn't matter how good the game is at all. All that matters is how many people are playing it, and this relies on many factors outside your control.

I'd like to be wrong, but this seems to be the way it goes at the moment.

  • Scirra had some reason for not showing a roadmap/todo list, I forget it exactly.

  • Looking good as usual!

  • That math looks good to me - is there anything else changing the values? Could we see a simplified capx?

  • You are right about a lot, but that's not how I would put it at all. Scirra are a small company, and they simply don't have the time to write all of these exporters. However, the public demanded mobile export and they were given mobile export. Yes, it's a bit dodgy as it uses such a young technology. But the option's there.

I do agree that Scirra should have been more careful with their advertisement of features - it's easy to believe that they offer full export. I'd much rather all the mobile exports be rebranded as 'experimental' as essentially that's what they are.

Regardless of their advertising choices (any larger company would have done the same in a second), Scirra have spent good time making a user friendly product for beginners and prototypers. There's no need to complain as AFAIK they have never said you will be able to create AAA apps and programs right out of the gate. You can, but it will take effort and time. It's never been said that other engines can't export better native apps. They also take much longer to make and are more tedious to program. It's your choice.
