  • Of course. That's probably all we need to know.

  • Ashley, I did not modify the HTML script.

Here is the link from my dropbox before I send it to my friend.

If this HTML is different (and I think it is!), then we at least have a reason for the problem ;)

Thank you so much for taking time from your busy schedule to help!

  • gndwestwd, you need to export your game as an HTML5 website, and share the public link of index.html.

, that's interesting. It does not work on firefox for me.

Also, I think the alignment is a side-effect of Kongregate export.

Any more help from somebody knowledgeable of the subject would be great, thanks!

  • Well I created a fresh export of both the Kongregate one and a regular export.

I confirmed they worked from Dropbox however the friend who is hosting it for me says that neither file is working.

I haven't been in contact since. Here is the link (I am not sure which version this is, Kongregate or not.)

I really need assistance with this, thanks!

  • Try Construct 3

I was not aware of any modification to the script... I will re-upload a fresh version.

Also, I tested it on dropbox and it actually does work outside of Kongregate.

Thanks for your help, I'll keep you posted. If anyone has any more suggestions, let me know ;)

  • Hmm, it still is not working.

This is what my friend says is the issue:

"Web browsers don't load the game even though the MIME type is set in a .htaccess file. The game does however work on a local WAMP server."

  • Many thanks.

  • Hey all, I was hoping I could get some help

My friend offered to host my game for me (to put on kongregate).

However, when I try it out (outside of Kongregate) I get nothing but a black screen and this error in the Dev console:

Creating Application Cache with manifest squiddster.theorangeblock.org/offline.appcache

    Application Cache Checking event

Application Cache Error event: Invalid manifest mime type (text/plain) squiddster.theorangeblock.org/offline.appcache

The game should be here. He said he was sure he is linking to the index.html.

    squiddster.theorangeblock.org

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • I don't see how it would be that helpful. The event enumeration at the moment is useless for organisational purposes anyway, because adding an event in the middle of the sheet makes all the ones below get pushed back.

  • Thanks,

Will I run into any problems with rotating layouts?

  • I have a bit of a problem.

At the beginning of every level, I want to zoom out and show the whole level. This sometimes looks really strange without 'unbounded scrolling' enabled.

However, when the game is 'zoomed in', the scrolling needs to be bounded so that the player knows when they are near the edge.

Any help? Perhaps a way to simulate either unbounded or bounded scrolling?

  • Make a "HUD" layer with parallax 0,0, then stick it on that layer at 0,0.

Otherwise, use the scrollx and scrolly expressions.

  • My game is ineligible for the arcade anyway.

And I have no budget. None. So I need something free. Fast.

    Does anyone have anything? Anything?

(Also, I need an answer for the second question).

EDIT: Sorry for being a bit annoying. I was a bit irritated ;)

I looked around for a bit and found 3owl.com... it looks pretty good, unlimited bandwith and storage but if I am not paying am I always going to miss out on important features?

  • Hey, I have a rather pressing question.

I just tried to upload my C2 game to kongregate, however when I came to the update page, I freaked out...

It only asks for an 'Iframe URL'.

I assume this is the link to the index.HTML file...

But does this mean that Kongegate is not actually hosting my game? Must I find my own hosting? This is a huge problem for me. Sure, I could use Dropbox, but its bandwidth limits means that we have no chances of our games getting popular.

I really hope I am mistaken, however I am afraid I am not. Any clarifications?

(also, one of the fields is 'required plugin'. What should I put there? The options are None, Java, Unity, Silverlight, and Other (please specify).

  • What do I put for the API callback URL in the 'upload game' page for Kongregate?

No idea what it should be.

    Many thanks, sqiddster.
