  • so for a game im working on im going to add a custom name, meaning it asks you your name and the characters call you that through out the game, how do i do that... could i for example say "hey 501389 how are you today??"

    "you ok 501389" and then say change all instances of the word 501389 to the global variable "character.name?

    if not please tell me how i could

  • Ok so... i think it would be a great idea and really helpful if you made a lite version of the construct 2 software and made it into an android app, because not everybody is at home on their computer every time inspiration hits, or maybe they don't have a computer, or (the last or) they don't want to spend hours on a computer in an uncomfortable position, which is something that limits me on creating things. Imagine this.. you're at home and you decide to make a new game, for android or iPhone, etc. so you pick up your phone and open construct. you don't have to go find your pc and slave over it for hours on end and getting a sore back or neck out of it, or maybe you can't afford a pc, what do you do? i just think it would be so great to have this on android because im never home, or im too lazy to get up and get on my computer. I even have a couple friends who have seen construct 2 but can't buy it because they don't have/want a pc. and it will also make tons of more money for you guys, what do y'all think? creating games on the go or no?

  • so my "hello world" game will have different levels, how do i move to the next layout with having to delete the previous one piece by peace?can i disable the whole layout when i go to the next one or does it do that by itself? also how do i make it to where if they been to a level it is unlocked and they can play again but levels they haven't are locked?

  • ok, so i have a couple questions which i could probably find on the web with enough research, but i only have internet at least 20 minutes a day so a couple questions.

    (btw) im making a rpg

    1. how do i make rain/snow in a way that works well with the top down layout

    2.how do i make dialog and also make characters follow a certain path

    3. how do i take away control from player during a part where i want it to walk and talk and then give it back at a certain point

    4. inventory and money system

    5. this one is hard to explain, like say if a character has a certain item he can open door that he can't without

    6. change dialog so when i come back after a mission it changes

    7.houses/buildings do i have to make a new layout for each building or is there another way? also for common houses can i make them go to the same layout that way i only need one but randomize the furniture or say if they walk thru door of house 2 it shows hidden furniture and hides old one and makes it not solid?

    that's pretty much it for now, i can't watch videos most of the time and i don't want anybodys .capx files i just want an explanation please, and hopefully this will help others having this all in one place, also im in need of a good map maker for like the actual city not a map of it like a background maker, something automatic please i suck at art please and thank you! also to make this easier can you put the number of which one you are answering before you do that would help a lot

  • like 3 to 4 game types in one game depending on the mission, not asking if its hard just if it is possible, but would like a range of difficulty

  • is it possible to make an rpg that changes into a platform game on certain levels? if so can i combine any type of game? would it affect speed too much if i do?
