  • Heyo,

    Having a slight issue with timer, it's being a right pain and when I activate the timer it runs and ends up constantly restarting itself according to the debugger / breakpoints.

    <img src="http://puu.sh/6xxKE.png" border="0" />

    Yes, it's firing off but it'll only go 0.1 of a second before restarting. But it works fine when placed into the "on start of layout"

    Any ideas?

  • And as per usual I discover that it's a PEBCAK issue. It was a disconnect between X and Y on loading the JSON and on the call.

    Below is my original JSON string (of course placed inline)

    {
    "c2array":true,
    "size":[9,3,1],
    "data":[
    [[3,1,3,0.5,1,60,"n",0,0]],
    [[5,2,10,0.2,3,340,"y",100,200]],
    [[15,3,5,1,2,180,"n",0,0]]
    ]
    }

    Now calling at(0,0) works fine but at(0,5) doesn't.

    However I found that my problem was this (as mentioned above)

    "size":[3,9,1],

    and now my calls work. very very frustrating.

  • I am getting the exact same problem in the exact same situation. I don't understand how I can load a JSON file into an array and then dump that array to JSON AND at the same time not be able to access anything beyond the very first Y of each X.

    It's an array, we should be able to access any X / Y / Z without JS complaining.

  • Hey All,

    I'm trying to move an object between two points in a arc, I tried using lerp but you can't affect Y over time directly. Can you apply a second trigger to add and subtract from Y?

    <img src="http://puu.sh/5K8UK.png" border="0" />

    I de-constructed my CapX to try and demonstrate how far I've made it, but for some reason it's not behaving itself and even the Lerp movement isn't working correctly for some reason, I'm blaming my brain on this one. If you want to take a look puu.sh/5K9xR.capx

    Any assistance welcome and thanked!

  • Hi Guys,

    I'm trying to figure out how I should build a light cast. As per the image, the character is holding say, a torch which highlights areas from it's central point (raycasting basically). I then need to be able to click on a lit area for an event.

    Diagram Example: puu.sh/1mfsa

    Do I basically need to fire out a whole spread of bullets? Any suggestions are helpful!

    Hope you're having a good one!

  • Yep, that did it >.< Thanks for answering such a stupid question.

  • Sorry to bring back a dead post but I'm having a problem with this. It could be that I'm operating in Beta v99 of construct, but I want to confirm this.

    Implemented exactly what was said, it just won't behave at all. dl.dropbox.com/u/938515/Test.capx

    And this sample CapX from Kyatric doesn't behave either (http://www.scirra.com/forum/platform-game_topic46666.html)

    Thoughts? I should switch back to a solid version?
