  • Hello friends,

I am making a quiz game. I am stuck in middle of the project and I'm looking for some help.

I have 4 sprites, I finding a way to get it arranged in a horizontal order. Also, their order (position) should be different every time the layout starts (random every time the layout starts). Please see the image below:

Once that is solved, I'm finding a way to do this:

Say there is a question and I have 4 answers which are all images. When the user click the image with his mouse, If the answer is correct, the sprite moves to the top position (animate the movement) and replaces the one which was there. The worng answer which was on the first position moves down to the empty space of the correct answer.

Thank you very much in advance. Really appreciate if I can find any help with either of the above issues.

  • Hi,

I'm on a trip to GDC and I'll get back to you once I'm back to our office by end of this week.

    Thank you.

  • do i understand correctly, if i would use your service you would publish my game to steam, amazon and other marketplaces and all the tax trouble like U.S. withholding 30%, VAT and so on would be covered by you and i would only get my revenue and have to pay tax accordingly to my home country?

Yes, the withholding and all the taxes will be already tackled by the Publisher and the platforms. You will also be free from all the trouble of calculating revenues, taxes, etc from all the different platforms separately. The publisher receives all the payments after all the taxes are deducted and paid and then you will receive your payment together as one payment every month.

how would you need it? as "raw" html5 export or apk or.. ? do we have to provide different exported versions for the different marketplaces

The games needs to be for atleast one of the following platforms: PC, Mac and Linux. If you have made the game through Construct 2, you need to export through Web nodekit which exports as exe and runs on PC. If you are using any other software for developing your game, you will need to export it in a way so that it runs on Windows (exe format) or Mac or Linux.

and the only thing i have to do is to develop the game and pay 79 pound?

Yes, the only charge you need to pay is 79 GBP which you need to pay only after the first sale is generated.

If you have any other queries, please don't hesitate to ask.

If you are interested, kindly contact me through my contact details provided in the first post above.

    Thank you.

  • Hi A0Nasser,

Here are the answers to your queries:

How much time this process will take ?

Depends on the publisher and your game including the technical issues which takes most of the time while setting your game on Steam as well as other platforms.

What you mean about : other platforms ?

Your game will be published on Steam as well as some other platforms like amazon, gamersgate, onlive, uplay, etc. Final details will be provided to you by the publisher.

79 + 100$ for steam or i don't need to pay the steam fee ?

No, there is only a one time fee of 79£ which you will pay after your game's first sale is generated on Steam. All the fees are paid by the publisher themselves (if any). You don't have to pay anything else.

and publisher takes revenue share : did you mean you will be my publisher and will cut some of my revenue ?

I will not be your publisher but we have publishers under our contract who will publish your game on those platforms.

    This is how it works:

    When a sale is generated,

    Game's Price - all the taxes - Platform's share = Publisher's Revenue

They will then send you your share % from what the publisher gets. Unfortunately I cannot share the numbers here. All the details will be there on the contract.

    Cheers,

    Sondeep

  • Hey A0Nasser,

Thank you for your interest. The charge is one time 79.99£ (GBP) per game. You need to pay only after your game gets live on Steam and other platforms.

Other than that, you may already know that Steam and publisher takes revenue share.

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

Myself Sondeep and I've been closely working with game publishers from many years as I'm a game distributor myself. During all these years, I've observed that almost 80% of a game's revenue come from Steam. As most of you know that Steam is the largest digital distribution platform with a huge customer base, getting your game available on steam is a big thing. I'm here to help you in getting your games directly on steam as well as other digital distribution platforms.

If you are willing to get your games published directly on Steam without going through the hassle of Greenlight, kindly contact me and our company can help you in getting your game on Steam as well as other popular digital distribution platforms through Publishers. As we completely understand the challenges of developing a game and publishing it independently, we will do our best to make the process as convinient as possible.

    Important:

Do you really believe that your game deserves to be on Steam? Kindly submit only if your answer is 'Yes'.

Your game must be able to run on desktop (Exported through Node-Webkit in case of Construct 2) and/ or Mac.

Show us gameplay videos and screenshots of your games or a demo if available. We don't require to send us your game right away. We will contact you if further information is required.

Our slots are currently limited to 15 games. Rest of the games will be in queue. So, don't hesitate to send us your submissions.

If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to contact me the through following and I'll get back to you through email:

Please contact me through Skype / LinkedIn as this forum restricts from replying to any personal messages without having a certain number of reputation points and post counts. I'll be able to reply to posts but no personal messages.

  • This is REALLY helpful.

However, with this method I encountered a problem:

If you have a push/pull animation that has multiple frames, it will be stuck on the first frame. From my point of view this is, because the function that calls the animation is executed the whole time, which causes the animation to start over again, always. This is also the case in your demo. Just add a few colored frames to the pull/push animation and you can see what I mean.

Is there a clever way around this?

I hope this thread is not dead yet. I am looking for the solution for the same issue and would really appreciate if someone can help.
