You can also check this thing called Google.

  • Hi Bill,

Check out my two EduTech games that were made on C3:

    play.google.com/store/apps/details

    and

    play.google.com/store/apps/details

  • The JS implementation into C3 is fairly newish. So, I don't think intellesence is hooked up in the same way that it is with other editors.

If you could make it work though, please tell me!!!

  • I remember seeing this a while ago. Do you use the recently updated camera? Or did you create your own system?

  • Thanks GeoffB! This information is very very helpful to me.

Thanks a bunch and best of luck to you in the future!

  • If there are things that repeatedly come up in customer feedback, then something needs to be changed. The trick is to find out the why and/or the what is creating the issues.

Before you just jump into the game and start to make it easier, you should do as DOP suggested and collect more information. Perhaps they are doing A when they should be doing B?

Put your game in front of you mother, your father, your brother, your sister, your grandparents, your teacher, etc. and just watch what they do. Try your best NOT to help them because you cant be there to help everyone.

  • If we have used your plug-in to implement subscription iaps, will we need to update our apps that are currently in the app/play store? Or will the original version continue to work correctly?

  • Since everything else works, I'm going to guess it's just a matter of the host not running the event/action to either create an object for the late joining peer, or associating the correct peerid to it. The peer client update and sending client state is likely working fine, and the host is just not applying it's inputs.

Hey man! So, I gave up .__.

I redid the multiplayer system and I still had this issue. I decided to just not allow players to join late. While I wish I didn't have to give up, honestly its not worth the stress staring at the same code for another week.

  • GeoffBAwesome! Thank you so much for sharing!

    - Do they companies you work for ever ask what platform you develop on? Do they care that you are using Construct, which is smaller in comparison to something like Unity?

    - When you work with other people, like artists, do you pay them or are they hired by the larger company?

    - When developing apps for clients, do you force them to buy/make their own Apple/Android stores for hosting? (if they want them available to the public)

    You da man!

  • I'm just curious; how many of you do this full time? As in, you dont have another job and are fully supported by something that you created and maintain via Construct.

If there are some of you out there, I have a ton of questions for you:

    1. Do you create apps? Websites? Other?
    2. Do you have a team? Do you outsource anything?
    3. How did you go about creating an audience?
    4. Do you mostly focus on one thing or a portfolio of things?
    5. You dont need to give exact details, but your rough MRR? And, how many hours do you put in per week?
    6. What advice do you have for people that aspire to do what you do?

    Thanks friends <3

  • Woah, that 'when behind make a shadow figure' effect is super cool! How did you do that?

  • Hiya oosyrag! Thanks for the suggestion. I actually just added an 'input ready' condition today, but it didnt help.

I totally understand that without a project its near impossible for y'all to help. I would send one, but to do so might break it even worse (since my game is games within games within games). I will keep at it and hopefully report back. If I still cant fix this one by the end of the week, then ill get to work on stripping it down into something that I can send to you in here.

I was just hoping that someone else has run into this before and knows how to solve it. It's probably something stupid that im overlooking.

  • I'm still struggling with this one!!!!!

Does anyone know of any reason why a peer joining a game late might not receive client updates? These peers are still able to send and receive messages, only the 'on client update' and 'set bit' stuff is broken. And, again, this is only for peers that join late.

  • Yes, I'm the host.

I connect to the signalling server, log in, join a room and it all works.

When I use the Disconnect from signalling server action, multiplayer immediately becomes useless.

Then, when I try to reconnect to the signalling server, it's fine... When I log in again, it's fine... When I try to join a room... It breaks.

If you ever use that disconnect action there's nothing you can do to use multiplayer again until you restart the program.

UNLESS you leave the room BEFORE you disconnect from the server.

It doesn't make sense that you can break multiplayer if you do things in the wrong order.

    Try this:

    EDIT:

Actually, you already seem to know this. So then, just do this when you want to end a multiplayer connection... ?

  • Thanks Sofa_King for sharing the experience, definitely its helpful when followed correctly. Although the issue comes at investing in marketing, could you provide any example of such customer interactive spaces online. This is because i have tried doing this with Facebook pages dedicated to gaming, but the participants are mostly game developers there. For a casual game like the one in this post, i don't know any such interactive space to showcase and build an audience.

It depends on the audience. If your target audience is merely 'casual gamers' it will be far too hard for many reasons.

For the OP, he could perhaps narrow down his audience to 'Young mobile gamers in Vietnam learning English'. With a more target niche like this, he/she can then do research (go to these people and talk to them) and find the appropriate interactive spaces. Without a more targeted niche like that, he is left without much guidance and thus must use the oversaturated and highly competitive spaces like the PlayStore. Not only that, but he could also tailor his app to meet their specific needs, making his app even more appealing.
