  • Nice I like the way your bricks work very unique

  • Nicely done! Thanks for sharing

  • Great work as always, thanks Ashley!

  • I agree that is an awesome site dhondon, thanks for sharing That should make a good source for the resource pack. The resource pack should also include where the original resources came from so users can find additional resources more quickly on their own.

  • I think it would be nice to have and it could be a separate download. It could help with making things like sample tutorials and for rapid prototyping. I wouldn't consider this a high priority thing compared to actual changes to Construct's code. But I think it would be nice to have, sort of like Python's idea of "batteries included."

  • Are there plans to add picked object support to Python scripting? It doesn't seem to be implemented and having it in place would really help. On a related note is there any way from within a Python script to enumerate all the instances of a particular object? Or a way to retrieve an object given it's UID? At least with something like that I could try to work around the missing picked object support plus I'm sure it would be useful for other things. Thanks in advance

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Thanks for the new host SuperV. I'm glad I was able to download it. It's very cool puzzle game and a unique concept. It took me a little while to realize that I had to use the mouse to control the spawn points. Might be worth adding a small not about that beside the list of controls. Great job! Thanks for including the CAP file it really helps and is very well organized.

  • Thanks for the overview of the problem TheInstance I can really see how that would trip someone up! I'm sure if you report the problem with an attached CAP on the bug tracker that Ashley will fix it.

  • Looks like an awesome game, but when I visit the site with Firefox 3 I get a warning that this site has been reported as an "attack site" maybe we could find a different free file hosting website.

  • If a suitable open source license doesn't already existing maybe dual licensing is the solution. Use a standard license like GPL for the C++ source code but then have a second license that only applies to plug-in developers that doesn't require publishing their source code under the GPL but only covers plug-in development so they can't use it to make proprietary fork of Construct without your permission.

  • I think Construct has more promise than GM and MMF. Technically I think it has a better architecture than the other two, Ashley is amazing, and it's open source so it has a good chance of taking off as it grows (personally I'm really amazed as how far it already is). But I think it really helps to have the perspective that TheInstance has. As long as Construct is in Beta then your games and your learning about Construct is in beta. It doesn't mean that if you are careful enough and work around any existing bugs and limitations you can't make a complete game, but I think you are better of at this point in Construct's life to focus on things like learning, experimenting, testing, and giving feedback.

  • Great work as usual Ashley, I can't wait to give it a try

  • SuperV, I noticed your latest bug reports don't seem to be in the official bug tracker:

    http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_i ... id=1003219

Make sure you report all bugs there or otherwise they may not get fixed.

It's ok to post them on the forum as well if you want them to be discussed (but it's not necessary).

  • Hi Ashley,

I think the article is well done! It really helped clarify conditions and events for me. I think there should be one example that shows an event with two conditions each on a different object type and then an actions on the list of instances of each object type that where selected independently by each condition.

    Thanks,

    Snoop
