  • Hello.

I am trying to make an enemy that works pretty much as the classic Super Mario big angry stone guy that sits on the top of the screen and falls down every X seconds and then gets up again. I've toyed around with physics and can't seem to figure it out.

Anyone have done anything like this before or can point me where can I find some information to help me?

Thank you very much in advance.

  • You're totally right. Somehow I think things are harder than they're and I stop thinking.

Sorry for the dumb question and thanks for the answer. It worked like a charm!

  • So. I am making the health code of the game. Actually I have set a 3 framed health hearts such as if you lose 1 hp you have 2 remaining and so on.

I've made an item that replenish one heart when the player collides with the item and then destroy it but I wanna make it that if HP is =/> 3 not to destroy the item.

Can't seem to figure out a way to do it. I know is an easy thing but my lack of experience is not helping.

    Thanks

  • Cheers buddy, you're awesome!

  • Yeah I deleted it because I made it to work. probably what you're saying was the problem I tried with every X seconds and it worked just fine.

I think this way is easier for me but thank you very much for your help, might come handy in the future!

    Cheers

  • Hello.

So I am trying to make a health bar Zelda like, with hearts or whatever image you like.

Lets say you have 3 hearths and whenever you get hit you lose 1, and when you lose all 3 you die. Alright so I found this tutorial but I can't seem to put it to use to such a thing:I don't really care for the buttons, I guess that's the way to explain how it works but can't seem to apply it to an actual game and I do believe it has to be easier to do so.

I've set the hearths, but I don't know how to exactly make the hearts become the global variable for health points. I suppose I have to do something like whenever you lose 1 hp withdraw 1 heart, but can't seem to get it right.

Anyone has some experience with this matter would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Hello.

I am new to Construct and I am progressin quite fast. Picked it up like 2 days ago with zero programming knowledge but I am quite a fast learner and I do work well with computers and interfaces.

I am making a platformer Mario-like and I made a tilemap to create the platforms, floor, obstacles, etc but I found a problem.

Once I have a tilemap set into my project, it always remain on the top of the workspace and no matter what object I try to click, or anything I click within the workspace it always select the tilemap. Only chance to be able to keep working is to either delete it or move it away from the actual game screen region.

Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

  • Hello!

I am a videogame enthusiast. I've always dreamt about being part of the videogame industry. I've tried doing so through Twitch.tv with somehow great success in the spanish community but it didn't fulfil my expectations.

To be honest the thing I want the most is to work for a big company as someone who helps with class balance, items and such, the kind of guy that has good problem solving abilities and if not for a big company for a game that I enjoy. This was always my view because every time I play a game especially pvp/online games I can't help to find solutions to current balance issues. That would be like I said my top go to option if I could choose freely.

Of course getting such a job is near impossible so thanks to the discovery of Construct 2 I am going to make my dream come true. I am going to work for videogames, I am going to work with videogames. Hopefully in the future I might accomplish a good indie game, or maybe the things I do will work in my favour to give me a ticket into a company I'd like to work with, who knows.

Truth is, here I am and this is my story.

PS: Sorry for my poor english and grammar.

  • This is just a pointless post that doesn't follow any of the bug reporting guidelines

not quite sure if this is a bug or something working as it shouldn't so I will post it here but I will skip the thread layout because can't really fill it properly.

Also, when I get home I will upload such things.

  • Hello, not quite sure if this is a bug or something working as it shouldn't so I will post it here but I will skip the thread layout because can't really fill it properly.

Here's the problem: After adding a tilemap to my project, the tilemap just becomes autoselected. No matter what I try to do, as soon as I click somewhere in the layout the tilemap becomes selected. Can't do anything unless I delete it or drag outsite the workspace, which doesn't really make any sense if it needs to be placed in it.

Hopefully someone can help me to solve this.

    Thanks!
