    Hello,

are you able to share the capx pal?

    thx

  • Hello,

Seems a little too slow on my Galaxy S4 and sometimes clicking he doesn't move immediately.

Also, seems a pain that you fall off edge and it has to redraw % ....it takes too long to wait and

PPL would get a bit annoyed waiting for this (20 secs) to redraw sometimes...just letting you know

The scrolling clouds, are you using DT for speed as its little jerky..good graphics and once those thing

done should be good...i thought a G4 should be a reasonable mobile to try it...if its like this then im

worried for my games now hmm...

  • I think the games cool too, BUT....it really needs some finesse. Like add a border, nice non-distracting background. Really needs a menu button

so PPL can return faster to a level rather then scroll to it. A help page (although its simple..but still some ppl are #$%#) and maybe a main title

page..get someone else to do the graphics, i guess they want it a little more 'esthetic'...then game play is GREAT but help THAT by making it look

    GREAT too...know what i mean?

    Like it

    Cheers.

edit: oh..it does show the construct gear initially, on the webpage game anyway..if that appears in IOS then they're probably already onto the

C2 apps and might be negative against them as, lets be honest, some ppl put crap up too and some look like a 2 yr old did it and they probably

think low quality is coming from C2... "IF" that's the case, lets change their thinking.

  • I came across a Explosion Generator 3

It's Free if that's any use to anyone?

    It can export as:

    Export Options:

    Series of PNG Frames

    Series of TIFF Frames

    Series of JPEG Frames

Separate MASKS, IMAGES and TRANSP Background Frames

  • Theres also ANOTHER Free Explosion Generator 3 here:

    http://www.deepblueapps.com/explosion-generator-3/

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Howdy,

Rob from Australia. Tried Gamemaker and few other similar software's but Construct seems to be close to some

other RAD programs i use. Certainly is faster to create games then any other I've tried so that's good

Some things in the events are different then what im used to but an active community is all that's needed

    to get through it easily,

    Cheers.

  • Thanks, it was interesting to see how you did it. Im more visual in that i like to 'see' the circle

in the layout and its hard to imagine or place the rest of scene/objects without physically

    seeing it..well for me

But...i can see some uses for this already and the maths is great learning too, so thanks for

    that

EDIT: Oh,i guess i can use the green sprite as a placement of where i want the circle i guess.

    Hmm..ok, thanks will try that.

  • Hi 7Soul,

Im trying to do something similar (another thread). So basically the only way to make a "barrel of monkeys" is to create the barrel in segments as you suggest.

I tried this but am having trouble getting each 'beam' to PIN to each other and rotate the barrel from the center. I made a CAPX example on this thread and

not sure how to make the circle..well, i do..if i create a 1/6th of a curve sprite and make 6 pieces and join them together but i tried this and the segment will

definitely need more then the 8 points to be a smooth edge..i think that's what Edelplastic was getting at.

I wondered if chipmunk physics would have something to solve this with. I'm surprised, i can think of many things that would be handy to have a sprite freely

moving in another polygon shape (besides a square which is obviously easy).

But anyway...This post to say thanks for that last tip...i couldn't remember reading that but it will help with something else.

    Cheers,

  • Howdy, i already am doing that. Hard to explain..if you see example its a crappy square..i want a perfect circle

which i cant seem to do..any ideas?

    Thanks

Went through the demos cant see how to make a circle made with inbuilt editor to be 'empty' inside

so working like the "square" example but is a circle...am i missing something?

  • Hello,

Im a bit stuck at this. I want to make a barrel by connecting up 8 rectangle 'planks'

and have a few balls in there bouncing around as it rotates. If i make a 'sprite' png

circle and try to put a ball inside obviously it starts on the top as the center of that

drawn circle is really a square.

I tried to use set collision polygon in a circle shape but its only recommended to use 8.

How to create a circle so a sprite can exist inside circle?

Is this easy to do thanks?

  • Just updated Firefox to V36 and using same Chrome Settings as above i now get 44-47FPS .

interestingly i turned off the auto adjust graphic settings from auto and left it on fastest

and on average game was more then playable. Don't know...whatever you do to make your

games run so well I'd like to know that lol

But i can't really fault it...slight lag sometimes but its nothing like some of the things i see

on here. Not been a member long, officially, but have hung around a fair while and i

think that Chrome/Firefox WILL get better...just wish it would hurry up and especially on

the Tablets Browsers. The above was with Firefox again, if that wasn't obvious. Cheers.

  • sqiddster,

My Laptop system: Toshiba Qosmio F60 Intel i7 M620 2.6GHz 4GB Ram, 64Bit OS. I know its a bit old.

Just trying to give a less then top range pc result so you can see how it runs on lower machines..hope it helps.

    Firefox V 35.01 FPS: average 19fps at 1920x1080....1366x768 was about 25fps.

Oh...totally different on CHROME Version 40.0.2214.115. With Fullscreen 1366x768 get av. 45-50fps.

Hard to say as it doesn't Stay that way..HOWEVER, i concur..as soon as i am NOT fullscreen FPS drops

a fair bit to the mid 30s.

I viewed it on my 1920x1080 monitor attached to laptop, not on laptop screen. Also the window size setting i used

were from the game size changed in options. so..Chrome seems OK but Firefox runs like a dog (whats new) and quiet

surprised it ran this well on such an OLD system.

    Rob

edit: Put game settings graphics to fastest,1366x768, and FS and ran in Chrome average 52-55fps..hmm..pretty good.

Obviously Chrome and your code is optimized well, i would think.

Is this meant for a Ipad/Tablet/Phone as well or PC only?

  • Hi mate,

Thanks Vaidd will take a look at it to.

The R0j0 random example is great, its 90% what i want and i have the cards deleting etc, just not facedown at start.

Its all new to me LOL. I come from a RAD framework which was built on Delphi so the flow IS a little different in the event structure,

After 2 weeks so far I'm understanding it more and more and a helpful forum goes a long way

    Thanks

  • Thanks for quick reply R0j0.

<- i set the card object with those variables. I just mean, as in your example, where would i put the check so that

all cards initially are face-down? I'm using Card.AnimationFrame and a few text objects so i can "see" the FrameNumber as i click on it so i can see the feedback. OK...so

i will have a think a bit more about this. If i get stuck ill annoy you again nicely,

    Thanks again.

Instead of setting the animation frame, you can set an instance variable of each card. Then you can make a boolean variable for each card and call it "face up". If the boolean is true you set the animation frame, and if it's false change the animation to a face down animation frame.

  • Hi R0J0hound ,

sorry for asking this on this old post but i found your deal_pairs.capx much better to understand using arrays as i can actually 'see' how

the cards are laid out, which is what i want. Unfortunately kittiewan hasn't been on for a year (to ask) so i used some of her code from the tutorial

so i am able to remove and destroy the pairs of cards i click on.

Where i'm stuck is how, using the array, to just so ALL "facedown" cards to begin with. At the moment they're all faceup and your capx is definitely a quicker

way to do it also. Do i need to create another array using a different card object, animation frame 0, and use there IIDs to select those and remove

them from the TOP of the array by Ids?

Any help on that would be appreciate. Read the manual, and Kits tut, but cant workout whether i need a separate array of "facedown" cards to appear

    ontop. Thanks,

    Rob
