    =)

  • did you add the "destroy outside layout" behavior to the bullets?

  • you could try spawning them at "scroll.x+(random(-600, 600), scroll.y+(random(-600, 600))"

the numbers completely depend on you window size setting =)

  • Omg, yes!! you guys are the best ^^!!

    Thanks :D!!!

And sorry for not looking hard enough for it D:

  • I have the same problem... my "solution" was this:

When landed: play "landed" animation, wait 0.3 secs, play "moving" animation.

And since the problem occurs only when you move after landing, this seemed "solution" enough for me xD

    Hope it helps ^^

  • It looks a hell of a lot like you're trying to run the game from your own computer, and browsers don't allow that. That's why Scierra recommends putting your exported game in your dropbox public folder. That way you can run the game from an external server (dropbox's), which is the idea of a HTML5 game anyway.

    Was that it? :S

    edit: many typos.

  • Hello again :D

I've been trying for some time now to find a way to make the characters in a text appear one at a time...

But so far the only way i can come up with is: Set text to "H", wait 0.01, append "E", wait 0.01, append "L", wait 0.01, append "L", append "O", then die of sadness.

The other solution I contemplated was to have something covering the text but text is on top of everything :D

The idea is to replicate the way games like zelda or pokemon or thousand others display text instead of the whole chunk at once.

Has anyone work around a better way of doing this?

    Much appreciation already :D

  • oh damn... I tried that but I was putting the "for each" inside the "withing distance" event... this makes much more sense and it works perfectly =)!!

This has cleared up so many things for me!

Thank you 7Souls :D!! You win a hug.

  • hi :D

I'm, trying to make instances get "activated" when they are within certain distance of the player, however "my way" needs 1 event per instance... and the instances need to be destroyed in my game and I know the instance number change when one is deleted =/

Isn't there a way to program a general event that can handle this more efficiently?

    This is what I made:

    dl.dropbox.com/u/20613220/activatebydistance.capx

    cheers ^^!

  • If you use the eight move behavior you can turn off the angle movement in the object properties, so that you can control the angle manually with the rotation control you have.

It will still allow you to move left and right without changing the angle of the object =). The rest is just setting the custom controls properly.

Hope this is what you need =)

  • Have you tried using the editor grid?

  • I had the same problem not long ago.

I solved it by adding the sine behavior to the object and made it very fast so it looked like a shake. The sine behavior can be activated via event, so it's very useful for this =)

  • yay!! now I get it completely! you blew my mind, I had no idea you could do thing this way =)!

Thanks you so, so much again ramones, you're the man!

  • omg... I noticed all the changes you made, but I have absolutely no idea what you did or how it works... I wanna cry xD!

Mr. Ramones, would you please be so kind to post a little explanation? pretty please?? :D

  • Something similar happened to me, but mine just decided to be mirrored instead.
