  • So in the new beta release r208 it says:

[quote:3208qvbx]Tilemap editor: can now hold shift+right click while dragging over a range of tiles, and the tilemap editor will select all the tiles from the start tile to the end tile. Useful for selecting patches to stamp out again.

I feel silly because I can't figure out how to get this to work. Is anyone else able to use this? I try doing what it says, holding shift+right click while dragging over some tiles I have already placed but it doesn't seem to do it--it doesn't look like it's selecting anything as I drag and it just brings up the usual right click dialog when i get to the end of dragging and release shift and right click....

  • I've been wanting the ability to use the child directed setting with Admob and I think I've finally got a work around and wanted to share in case anyone else is looking for something like this.

This is a good setting to have if you're worried about what information about users Admob is collecting from you, especially with regards to COPPA regulation.

So here's how you can try out my solution (let me know if you notice any issues with it!). When you get to the point where you are adding the Admob plugin to Intel XDK, use this one instead:

    Name: Admob

    Plugin ID: com.cranberrygame.phonegap.plugin.ad.admob

Don't check the box "Plugin is located in the Apache Cordova Plugins Registry"

    Repo URL: https://github.com/russellrain/com.cran ... lddirected

This is just a fork of the cranberrygame repo that is referenced by the official admob plugin. I've just added a line (builder.tagForChildDirectedTreatment(true);) that sets the child directed setting.

I can't guarantee this will work for you or that I will actively keep my fork of the plugin updated in the future, but for now hopefully this might help some of you who are looking for this same thing—hopefully someday in the future we'll get official support for this feature.

edit: I think these instructions might not work perfectly with newer versions of Intel XDK, but hopefully it's enough to get you there. I'll have to update these instructions later.

  • that's kind of what I was thinking of doing. Not sure if I'm really losing anything by dropping the 64-bit version...

  • I was wondering how important it is to have both the 32-bit and 64-bit version of a game when exporting to Node Webkit. I'd rather just have one install file instead of two and am wondering if I can just use the 32-bit or 64-bit install file or if people will run into issues with this if I choose one.

I'm also curious how people that have their games on Steam account for this--if their install file just uses one or the other...

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

  • One of my apps was having this issue but I deactivated the CocoonJS apk version and after a few hours the alert went away. So for me it wasn't an issue with my Crosswalk published build, but the Cocoonjs apk I had as a backup for older devices. Just wanted to mention that in case it helps anyone else.

edit: I take it back. Looks like the alert came back on Crosswalk apps that I haven't updated. I tried updating my openssl and using beta 10 on one of my apps and the alert hasn't come back on that one for a few days.

  • looks fun!
