  • Thanks, It could be a problem for certain models then.

    My concern is why is the C3 one laggy when then C2 one is super smooth on the J7.. I'm playing with performance settings on C3 to get it as close to C2. Still no luck. Maybe I'm not doing this right.

  • did you experience any slight lags or delays when flipping the cards on the C3 game (zoombound)

  • This was a bug on Samsung Internet browser. I spoke to their dev team and got it fixed. They recently pushed a new update fixing the issue. Now its rendering fine.

  • Try Construct 3

    Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I've been making games on C2 and now upgraded to C3.

    Recently I had a re-use a memory card game I did in C2 using a 3rd party tween plugin.

    I have everything I need out of the box on C3, so didn't need any 3rd party plugins.

    I recreated the same game, same way for C3 instead of just opening the C2 file.

    Both exported as HTML5 games.

    When I run the 2 games side by side on my testing devices, I notice that on about 5 year old mid range phones the C3 game is not smooth, a bit jerky. Where as the C2 game is so smooth. This game does not even have any effects or heavy code. Just a tween to flip the card by manipulating the width.

    So the question is, how do I make C3 run as smooth as C2 on the mid range phone?

    The newer recent phones can cope up because their processors are better.

    I tested on a Samsung A71, Samsung J7 Pro, Iphone 10, Iphone 11

    I noticed the difference between the 2 versions very significantly on the Samsung J7 Pro. This phone came out in 2017. Didn't notice any difference in other phones.

    What is the optimum settings to make the game work smoothly on older phones?

    Appreciate any help on how to improve C3 performance of this game.

    These are the 2 games in question.

  • I think this is a bug from construct.

    Because I just checked the leaderboard HTML page I created for the same game using the same fonts. They appear just fine..

    BTW this only happens on Samsung internet browser. The rest I checked are fine.

  • Any one making browser based games come across this issue recently? The woff fonts used in my game doesn't render.. they just fall back to device fonts. This only happens on Samsung internet browser only. I've tested on many samsung devices and they all had the latest updated browser.

    I think this could be a browser bug. Any one had this issue and did any work around it?

    I tried altering the syte.css file that gets generated to something like

    {

    font-family: 'bungee-regular';

    src: url(‘fonts/bungee-regular.eot’);

    src: url('fonts/bungee-regular.woff2') format('woff2'),

    url('fonts/bungee-regular.woff') format('woff');

    }

    still doesn't seem to work

  • Any idea why facebook plugin doesn't return anything for user's name?

    Maybe facebook has changed their APIs and the FB plugin needs an update?

  • Sorted out the fullscreen problem..

    I had put the fullscreen command on a on tap gesture condition.. moved it into a on touched condition and now its fine.. crazy behaviour.. but this way it worked..

    The lock orientation issue is still not sorted out.. never worked on C3.. C2 games are fine though..

  • When I build the game as a webpage with fullscreen mode to letterbox scale and add to home screen the game opens up beautifully like a native app without the address bar and already full screen but with the top bar with the clock and notifications. That's fine. But when I set the fullscreen mode to scale outer and do the same as above, it opens with the address bar as a regular browser.

    And I also noticed that the builds from construct 3 lock orientation never work on ios. but the games I've made with construct 2 still work fine..

    Am I missing something here or not doing anything right?

    This is what I do on both C2 and C3

    Browser - lock orientation to landscape

    Browser - request fullscreen - stretch(letterbox scale)

    C2 works but C3 doesn't

    There is another problem happening with ios now. When I do go fullscreen through the browser, and when I keep tapping the buttons in my game which are on touch object, suddenly throws a warning saying you are not supposed to type when on fullscreen. do you want to stay fullscreen or leave? annoying message keep appearing every 10-15 taps..
