  • Ah yes the image point movement worked best for this. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the suggestions. I havent messed with since Friday but will look at again today. The shield moves fine with the boss fine...but I just could not get it where I wanted it to be right of the bat so it just looks weird, to me. I'll try imagepoints as well.

  • I have a boss ship that moves left then after say 10 HPs moves back right and a shield object comes up. I can get the shield obj to come up fine and move with original obj with "set position to (boss1.x, boss1.y)."

But with the above command the the boss and sheild just do not line up like i want(because they are different sizes and whatnot) and so I am trying to shift the shield by add/minus x/y as needed but to me it does not appear to be working.

would you guys/gals use set position to (boss1.x, boss1.y+100) to shift the shield obj down 100 pixels from the center point of the boss1 obj? Or am I not understanding something?

    Thanks,

    Rich

  • Can you add System > Trigger once while true under your variable condition?

Brilliant! I totally forgot about that command...I came up with this crazy 3 object and 2 variable solution in the past and thought...I cannot believe this is not an easier way!

Thanks...My bullet is doing something wonky but I should be able to sort that out!

  • OH I found another condition If object is outside of layout...that might make my event easier to use.

  • I am guessing this is happening because I am trigger an event to happen when Value = 2. At Value =2 it is doing Set Position(x,y) thus it keeps hitting that position over and over again until the value does not = 2.

I did a test where I did an object create instead and the object just kept recreating itself. How do you have an action only run one time when using a variable?

I made a work around where I had more than variable but man that is a pain...thought there would be an easier way.

  • ok thanks...damn it.

  • I have been working on something in Construct 2 for awhile and for whatever reason if I have an object that has bullet enabled and working like normal and then I do "Set Position to(x,y)" the bullet seems to stop working. The object moves to the new position but bullet does nothing.

I have tried disabling and enabling the bullet,, change angle of motion, bullet speed and acceleration and nothing seems to help.

Am I misunderstanding what set position is doing?

  • I got it...I didn't edit your "Sprite" with "Player1"

It is rotating much better now. But not exactly what I want...I like the fluid motion it goes from clicking in different parts of the screen but it is too slow of a rotation. Increased 0.33 and that seems to be a good middle ground to get the rotation look with quick response time as well.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Thanks - I was able to DL the Beta.

Alextro - I see how it works in your file, thanks. But it is not behaving the same way in mine. I click and it rotates some...but not all the way to the location of the onscreen clicking. I tried changing the last number from 0.1 ot 0.5 and it seems to move quicker to the spot but still not to the exact spot I am clicking.

  • Thanks for the file but I cannot open as you are on r240, I am only on r239. I went to the DL page and 239 is the highest available to the public?

  • This is such a cool looking game...the shadow reacting with the flashlight looks freaking awesome!

  • Cool trailer!

  • Neat idea for a pinball table. Dig the audio, could use a bit more variation with those but overall I did like the audio.

Checked it out. I feel the physics are too bouncy? Like the ball bounces too much. Also without even hitting the ball with my flipper would cause the ball to go crazy when it just into the flipper on it';s own.

Also I seemed to have never ending balls

Design Idea: Incorporate the Left and Right shift keys as well if you can. I play Visual Pinball on my PC and typically all of those style of pinball games use the left and right shift keys. That just seems more natural to me.

  • Hello,

I am working on a rotational shooter and when I touch the screen(or mouse click on PC for testing) the ship turns to where I pointed, quickly, awkawrdly....I am hoping for an actual rotation to the spot I am touching/clicking vs just a quick turn.

    Does that make sense?

    I use

Touch - on any touch start - Player1 = Set angle toward (touchX.touchY)

    Thanks,

    Rich
