  • Ashley Sorry for bringing this old post back but I have to ask since I'm not fully understanding. There are game portals/ customers that want to buy html5 games but they ask for your source code. Would I be able to give them that?? The reason I ask is that I brought up the subject of construct 2 on the html5gamedev forum and Rich had mentioned that while he loves C2 that his clients want the source code and C2 doesnt give you that option. I see u have posted there before Ashley so if you can shed some light on this that would be great. Here is the conversation.

    html5gamedevs.com/topic/438-how-many-people-here-use-construct-2

I hope you are able to do this as it would really bring down the time to make games. using construct 2 vs coding it out (reason being, that I'm not a coder yet. I want to learn JavaScript but will take longer for me to churn out a game)

    Thanks for any answers.

  • blackberry 10 will come to the playbook its been said by official blackberry people. I think there still might be some problems with games running on the playbook. But all this will be fixed when bb10 gets on the playbook. I have played some C2 games on the blackberry z10 and the performance is good. Hope that answers ur question

  • For the sounds people were having issues with the volume going full blast. check out this post scirra.com/forum/blackberrymax-sound-volume-bug_topic57633.html it seems to be a common complaint.

Im not sure if the latest updates to the OS fixed some of these things. As for using other file types looking at this forum post a member changed to file type but it was giving him the same problem. again im not sure if the latest OS update has fixed these things. you can see a post on it here

hope that helps out a bit

  • Now were talking business. Great forum post. Its awesome to see RIM really get behind developers and support them like this. Hopefully you can help make the process easier. BB10 is the only one left for construct to be able to export to as a platform. Maybe Ashley and WaterlooErik can work together to make this as easy for construct 2 developers to export for BB10. Another thing on the list though should be issues with the sound that people have commented on. I think the exporter and the sound are the most important issues with construct 2 being able to run on BB10. The other things are just a bonus. It would be great as BB10 is another market to sell apps on. I hear blackberry users pay for apps more than iOS users!!!

  • It's not as see less as I thought it would be u do notice something

  • What do you add in the XML file like exactly lol can you post it here. :P also is the XML file the same thing as the config.xml file if so again what do u add to that file lol

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • the performance should be even better cause the its an updated version. its closer to what theplaybook final OS will be than 2.1 sooo thats why i really want to test it out. but I need a game that i can test it with. thats in a .bar

  • ohhh i just also remembered that there are instructions here :) forums.crackberry.com/android-app-sideloading-f258/diy-how-sideload-android-apps-playbook-2-0-a-701348

and if you use an apple computer here are the instruction for that

    crackberry.com/sideload-android-apps-your-mac

I know it says android apps but its the same if u have ur own app that u made. if u have questions about the mac version i can help with that

  • also if u want i can also try to test it on my alpha device. send me a personal message if ur interested :)

  • you can side load it into the device what kind of computer are u using i know how to do it for mac

  • Ashley Hi I was wondering if you were able to make a game work using construct 2 for the playbook?? Im very very interested in this. Also was wondering if you had something to test out on blackberry 10. I have an alpha device which RIM gave out with the latest OS last week, which will be very close to what they are going to release when RIM releases their new phones and I wanted to test out a game to see if it runs ok. Also to see that the sound works. Technically using phone gap it should spit out a .bar file but maybe u have already done this. I would love to test out a game. Im not really a developer but I'm the owner of a website where I review application for the playbook and future blackberry 10 applications. My website is called BB10apps.com If it works I would like to write something up that talks about using construct 2 to make html5 games for the blackberry 10 platform and also do some tutorials that can be posted here and on opensourcebb.com. Opensourcebb.com have connections with RIM and if this works it would be huge for the blackberry developer community and also for SCIRRA :)

    Thank you Ron

  • hey do guys see a fuzy line as he move up or is it just my computer??

  • looks like it helped a bit thanks a lot for the help guys really appreciate it. This should be made into a sticky or something or added to the the list of FAQS that one of the moderators made (sorry I forgot the name) I read through those for an answer lol.

I think its the is probably the best way that will allow for "endless" games to be made :)

  • it destroys all the platforms once you reach 1400 score lol ?

  • HOLY Srvg@%T!!! It actually worked hahah :) I'm so happy right now thanks a lot man. I was think of something like too but would have no idea how to do that either lol. I do find that it stutters a bit is it cause its relocating everything??
