    Have a nice week everyone!

  • Congrats! So then Steam is easy to put a C2 game out on? I'm debating whether I should pay the $100 fee or not. Would you recommend it? Is it easy? I have Construct2, I don't want C3. Did you use C2 or C3? Just trying to make sure it's easy to put out a C2 game on Steam today. No pickiness on Steam's part in regards to accepting or rejecting the game?

Thanks! I made it using construct 3, but from what I heard, C2 is not that different and should be no problem.

(Oh god I just noticed I wrote the topic title wrong as I was replying to you)

The whole process took me a while to learn, I had to follow some tutorials on youtube, once you understand how it works it's easy to repeat it in case you need to update the game.

I think they accept pretty much any game as long as it's not hate speech or has illegal content.

You gotta put every detail they ask you on the store page before it gets aproved, I set my store for analysis and they accepted it in two days. The store page won't go online until you put all those details (5 screenshots, steam library images)

You can have the page online before the game is uploaded if i recall correctly, in order for the game to be accepted for release, you can't put any false information in it, like, if you put in the store that your game has spanish language, but the game doesnt have it, then they wont accept it and you'd have to either add it to the game or delete the information from the page, they will play the game for a while (probably around 10 minutes) to make sure it is playable.

So yeah its two aproval processes, one for the store page and another for the game.

One thing that happened when I sent my game is that I added Brazilian Portuguese and Portugal Portuguese as language options in the description on the store page, but the game only had one "Portuguese" selectable option, even though I made sure to use words that were universal in both languages, they didnt aprove the game for that reason so I had to remove it and send again, after that they accepted it in three hours.

They do sent you good feedback and are very clear on what needs to be done if the game is rejected. You can also add notes when you submit it for aproval.

Overall it's not too hard, it has lots of tutorials, you just gotta be patient and not expect to get your page running in a single day.

So it really depends how many copies you think you'll sell, if it's worth the effort, unfortunately that's very hard to estimate, I know a bunch of very small devs that are just starting, some people dont even make the 100 dollars back, and some people who had unexpected success on stuff they released just for kicks.

Sorry my thoughts are a bit disorganized and I probably made lots of spelling errors, I'm like 24 hours awake and exhausted lol.

If you need more specific help I can search my history for the tutorials I followed.

It's been a long journey, every time I tried to make a game I would feel overwhelmed and just give up.

I was really surprised at how easy it is to implement and make pretty much all of my ideas work once I tried Construct! Really intuitive and easy to use.

The community is also pretty helpful and I could find a topic with a solution for pretty much every problem I had.

I made some bigger projects that I never finished but were good for practice, decided to try something simple first so I could actually finish it.
