  • This worked! Many thanks. All I have to do now is pay a fee to register with PhoneGap to unlock the file for publishing and I should be ready to go live. Thanks for your help again.

  • Just downloaded Intel XDK and got this message straight away:

"The ability to create and import Android and iOS keystores and certs has been disabled. You can still use and download existing certs".

Wonderful!! People are not happy be the seems of things!

  • Great! Thanks for this I will try it out as soon as I get the chance today and will post my results. Many thanks!

  • Hi there,

I have been using C2 now for several months developing and app for my business. I have gotten to the stage where I want to upload an alpha version to the google play store so I can delegate testers to use it. To do this I have exported my app from C2 through Cordova. I then compressed and created a zip file for PhoneGap to create an .apk file. This works and it creates a working file with debugging. I then download this file ready for upload to the google play console and upload it. It attempts to upload and then i get an error message stating that:

"Upload Failed - You uploaded a debuggable APK. For security reasons you need to disable debugging before it can be published in Google Play. Learn more about debuggable APKs.

You uploaded an APK that was signed in debug mode. You need to sign your APK in release mode. Learn more about signing".

I have since learnt that in order for PhoneGap to produce an .apk file that is for production and not testing (with debugging), I requre a keystone. I have trawled the web to find answers on how to do this and can't seem to find any that work. I have followed various tutorials with no sucess and am now at a loss as where to look next for the solution. I have seen people mention a java program or code that you need to run in order to generate the code, however, I can't seem to get this to work either.

Has anybody else out there experienced similar problems as myself and found a soultion to it? Im sure generating a keystone for use with PhoneGap shouldn't be that difficult shoud it??

    Many thanks,

    Dan

  • Many thanks for the rapid reply Warville. I was hoping that I could simply transfer the HTML, SCSS & JS straight in C2. Do you think this might be possible or would I have to create physical objects within C2 ect?

  • The code in question can be found here: https://www.bypeople.com/animated-app-n ... n-concept/

  • Hi there,

I have a question about hand coding within c2 and if it's possible or not.

What I propose to do is hand code some HTML, SCSS & JS within C2 to create an animated app navigation menu/layout. I have already made this work for a web browser, what I want to do now is make the same thing work in C2 so I can add content to each "page" on my menu. The code is written in HTML, SCSS & JS. Just wondered is this kind of thing is at all possible within C2 before i delve into trying and finding it's not even possible.

    Many thanks,

    Dan

  • Thanks Magistross this sounds very useful however I still have no idea on what to do. None of this is simple or obvious to myself.

If anybody knows of a tutorial for this then could you please let me know.

    Many thnaks, Dan

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Many thanks for both suggestions. I have researched the POST request and am also unsure on how this would work in C2 and have looked at your tutorial Ragevortex and am not sure if i have the ability to adapt it to what I want to achieve.

If there is anything else I could try or any other ideas out there im willing to tryt them all out.

    Kind regards, Dan

  • Hi there,

I have an ongoing problem that I have been working on for some time with very limited sucess so far and would love to hear your comments on it and perhaps suggestions on acheiving my goals (if at all possible).

The problem may seem complicated in my explination, however I will do my best to explain it simply. Here goes...

    1. I am making an app/game that captures data and displays it on screen (simple so far, it's working).

    2. I have a button that captures a screen shot when pressed (still simple and still all working).

    3. I have a "download" button that allows the user to save the captured image to their device (it works).

    4. Next I want the captured image to save to my own server or webspace or somewher where I can access them from (not so simple, maybe not possible).

    5. The images would need to be saved in a sequential numbering system so they don't get replaced by the next saved file of the same name.

    Things to note:

    1. I have tried an email pluging to get the images sent directly to my e-mail address but can't get it to work. This would be the ideal solution.

    2. The canvas snapshot that I have used with my app/game is the example that comes with c2 and it works fine for storing the image to the users local device.

    3. All I want to do is have the same image save to a location of my choosing when the user clicks the "download" button.

I hope this makes sence and would love to hear your thoughts and any feedback you may have for this.

    Kind regards, Dan

  • Just done a test using the "flaping bird" example and it does the exact same thing.

  • Been using the same example email form downloaded from the scirra website for a while now with no issues: (armaldio's "Send emails") plugin. Recently updated to r240 and when I export as HTML5 website I now get the exact same HTML5 exporter message appear "Unable to run the script minifier (2)".

    I have tried on 2 different windows PC's ( windows 8 and windows 10).

I Have re-installed Java (well my IT support did at least).

Is there anything I can do to stop this messge appearing? It says thta the exported project "should" still work, however im uncertain if it is or not.

    Many thanks

    Dan

  • Excellent!!

  • Hi there,

I have recently received help on what capx files are and what they are used for ect. However, I don't seem to be able to attach mine for inspection/help from moderators/users on this forum. I have read through the manual, I have looked at the FAQ's and searched for answers on this forum yet still cant see how to attach a file.

Could anybody please talk me through how to add my capx file to this forum for inspection please?

    Many kind regards,

    Dan
