  • I've been using PiskelApp for nearly 4 months so far. It's free, it's easy to use once you get the hang of it, you can download the offline version so you can use it without internet. Plus my pixel art is practically secured because my PiskelApp account is connected to my Google account. It may not be 'high quality' as much as other programs, but I'm still stickin' with it.

    Perhaps for professional use:

Other pixel artists would also recommend Aseprite. I've heard about it but never used it. To tell you one thing, it comes with a free trial, but once that's over, you'll have to buy it to continue using it. I would suggest looking at this too, read some reviews written by the users. This may help for you to determine whether or not you want to have the program.

  • Thanks for the helpful replies you guys!

For each x condition and action, add a corresponding y condition and action with the numbers you want.

I believe I know what you mean.

Could this be the answer you are trying to inform me?

I tried this method out, and camera seems to move diagonally downwards... which is something I don't want. Obviously, it's something I'm not doing right. But, hey, it's a helpful start! My mistakes can be corrected. I'll keep on experimenting!

My goodness, thanks for telling me about those plugins. Probably would have save me a lot of time.

[quote:210s8gow]or just calculate how much to add to the y coordinate each step of the way.

Could you tell me what this method is with more details?

I want to collect as much information I can get with all the replies!

  • How do I change the camera's straight path to a diagonal path... In a cut scene?

I’ve been studying this video along side with a .capx made by Kyatric

    https://youtu.be/RHVF_Utc1Sk

    So, here’s this:

The .capx/video explained when a one of the camera trigger is triggered by the player, the camera will enable cinematic. The event sheet (the image that's above) I just showed you is where, of course, a cinematic is enabled. The camera will move forward, leaving the player to view another area. Then go straight back to the player. Something like this:

What I'm trying to figure out it this:

How do I set the camera's path to go diagonal? I think that's all the information I can give for anybody to help me.

    Any help is much appreciated!

There are probably 2 games that inspired me so far:

    Bayonetta & Phoenotopia.

Loved those games with all my heart.

Those two gave me practical ideas on what type of game I wanted to make.

  • Isn't this wonderful?

It's very well understandable that users who are under 500 reputations get little access. It's pretty smart for reducing the spams. But, I'm here for a reason: To gain more reputations so I can use Scirra at its full potential for my benefits!

Straight from the top -- my name’s Russell.

Pixel Art is a form of Digital Art. Spoiler alert, it’s my favorite kind of art. I’m an intermediate Pixel Artist and wish to improve. I also wish to learn as much as possible from these Scirra forums and tutorials for my use in Construct 2. Even if I may come to a halt on a difficult situation, I can always count on you guys to help me out. Since I’m the type of person with a big imagination, I think putting my creative nonexistence thoughts on a physical platform such as Construct 2 to be perfect! Anything I can imagine. Allowing things to be part of reality, I can’t wait.

Not like I made a complete game, that’s obviously for the future. My interests has always been Nintendo, but I love games in general, no matter what PC or console the game may release on. I always learn to appreciate, while giving prompt constructive criticism.

  • Took me an hour and 20 minutes to finally figure out what you were saying.

    Thank you!

    Problem: Solved.

  • Side note: In the title I used a short-hand abbreviation 'HDI' for 'How Do I' so I could fit some reaming letters in the title. But I'm not sure if this community uses that abbreviation... ANYWHO!

    As you can see...

I'm having problems when I press and hold W(JUMP) and D(RIGHT) or W(JUMP) and A(LEFT) at the same time, it plays walking animation until it reaches to a point where the fall animation is enabled to fall back down to a platform. If you could tell that the W/D and W/A buttons from the WASD keys. Which means the button combination I was using is to jump in midair while moving forward. Jumping from point A to point B in a short distance. I'm not sure why, but it's like the event sheets are allowing the walk animation to override the jump animation. At first, I thought everything was kinda okay when I pressed the W button alone to go straight up to allow the jump animation to play and then down to allow the falling animation to play, yet trying to jump forward (like you're jumping over a pit of spikes) the walking animation is played instead of jumping animation. I don't like this.

    Help is much appreciated!! 乁(´• Ĺ̯ •`)ㄏ
