  • Hello Everyone!

When I first saw "Line Of Sight" plugin I coud not expect that it works for hot-spot (Origin) detection. It means that "line of sight" can not detect even very big target object if there is a little obstacle between "line of sight" and target objects.

This is not so good. Especially when you need to calculate a blast-wave of grenade (for example). Cause it's requires "line of sight" to be a "Field of Sight". Another words it requires per-pixel detection but not just straight line between two objects.

Is there any way to create the effect of "Feild of Sight" (something like raycast)?

    Maybe plugin?

I created this topic not because of my needs but also cause I think that solving this problem can make C2 developers life easier.

    Thanks for advance.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Thank you so much. It's beautiful.

  • Ok. Here is my example that does not work:

    Conditions are marked with "-"

    Actions are marked with "**"

    "Enemies" family has "ID" variable,

"Enemy" object type is in that family.

    -Enemy has LOS to Enemies(family);

    -Enemy.ID not equal to Enemies.ID

    **Enemy.Stop

  • How can I make multiple objects of the same type detect each others using Line Of Sight behavior? I really have troubles with undestanding how does picking system of the C2 engine works.

    Thanks in advance! :-)

  • Somebody, please, tell me how can I make multiple instances of the same object type avoid each other during moving? All instances use pathfinding behavior.

  • The same problem

  • Thank you for the official answer. I'm so glad that my question has been seen. It's so good that Construct 2 is growing up and upgrading.

P.S. English is not my native languag so I might be incorrect in grammar ascpect. <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Unity 3D with new 2d features can handle it with excellent fps, Game maker can handle even more than 300 physics bodies with great FPS. As potencial buyer of Construct 2 I like almost everything in this product (C2) but so called native perfomance is not so good.

How could I post my file if I have not permission for psoting URLs?! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Excuse me if the topic is too irregular, or it may seem silly.

I like your product (Construct 2) so much, guys, but the performance of C2 is very low. What I mean? I've tested a few game engines with one simple test: spawning 300 physics bodies (boxes), only 300 boxes on the layout - nothing else. Construct 2 has the worst result. The perfomance is not so bad when using WebGl, but outside the HTML5 it's terrible (on desktop and mobile devices).

I used Multimedia Fusion 2 before I met C2 and I remember MF2 has the same problem.

This is the only reason why I still don't have the license. Are there plans to improve the performance of the engine in the future?

    Thanks in advance! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
