  • v1.0--> http://www.megaupload.com/es/?d=XV7FE7NB

    -More balanced levels.

    -Counters added.

  • is the engine (spacebar) supposed to do something?

    While pressing spacebar you spend fuel and get double speed and maneuverability (acceleration).

    there was a spinning box that didn't seem to do anything...

    The spinning box adds a life to the right down corner (see controls).

    Thank you so much for playing.

  • Hi, constructors! these days I have been constructing this game as a tribute to the best TV series ever: Joss Whedon's Firefly. Check it out. I would appreciate comments to improve it for next version.

    I think levels' difficulty is not well balanced yet, don't you?

    v1.0 with some fixes---> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1FR47TP7

  • At the moment it's a 32x32 icon. Windows supports bigger ones (Vista up to 256x256) so in future there'll be a way to have a bigger icon.

    Thanks for the fast answer.

    You made a big damn program!

  • The samples on channels only support PCM WAVs, but the 'Play music' action supports MP3, WMA, anything Windows Media Player does.

    Thanks, I got it. And what about the icon?. Which is the maximum size fo the aplication icon. I noticed that if it's too large (50X50)it looks kinda distorted in the exe. I don't know how to make the png to keep it's resolution.

  • I decided to ad the audio as a resource instead. It's a little heavier, but i think it's better to have just one file. I appreciate all your help.

    Here it is the 2.1 version with several playing improvements. I added controlling information , a crappy icon and some bugs fixed.

  • Are your sounds WAV files? The DirectSound object doesn't support MP3s, if I'm not mistaken.

    Oh great, thanks that was the problem. Only standard audio files.

  • Thanks, linkman, that helps. The audio seems to be implemented now but it doesnt work. I did what you said but...

  • Try Construct 3

    Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

    Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I don't even hear that. Again, I'm wondering if you created them as external files or have them embedded in the .exe as a resource.

    I'm sorry, you were so right. If I delete the external mp3 file there's no sound. Any clue about integrating it in the exe file?

    I guess Construct is generating the log file?

    No, i have just uninstalled Construct and the log keeps turning up after execution. The *.exe creates it. We must have some parameter enabled.

  • Yes, i agree with you in several points. The 8 direction controls is because i found it easier when you have a mouse, the asteroid is just annoying for me from the beginning. I think i will try add an optional keyboard-only control system.

    I liked the idea that if you want to score, you have to destroy the hammer... things and they duplicate, and it gets hard soon untill you find the power-ball.

    The only sound is the series' intro theme at the starting. There are no shooting and exploding sounds yet, but i will implemment them as soon as i get my microphone. I don't know how to make the .exe file not to create the log .txt. If you knew something about it, please...

    Thank both very much for commenting.

  • Yes, you can check the brand new 2.0 version of the Dr. Horrible's Ice-Ship Game. No introduction yet but a lot of improvements:

    Explosion effects

    Graphics' size optimized

    Fuel variable added

    Edge continuity

    Pause/Resume

    And lots that I can't remember

    And the controls are the following:

    Arrows ____________________ Move the ship

    Left Mouse Button ___________ Shoot an ice floe

    Right Mouse Button __________ Powerful mode

    S _________________________ Restart the game

    P _________________________ Pause the game

    R _________________________ Resume the game

    Although I'm definitely not a cool kid I decided, after a long reflexion, to upload it to:

    FileShack (589Kb) ---> http://www.fileshack.us/get_file.php?id=39490&file=Dr.+Horrible++s+Ice-Ship+Game+2.0+-+www.ramoneces.tk.rar

    I hope anyone enjoys it.

  • Here is Dr. Horrible's Ice-Ship Game 1.1 with some playing improvements:

    Megaupload (529Kb) ---> http://www.megaupload.com/es/?d=HF5BD5FN

    Oh, the controls are arrow keys and left mouse button.

  • Nice starting animation, nice graphics, even the Spanky animation is cool (i love when he dies and it seems to do inapropriate things to the mooses when attacking from behind ). I will play all the games in your web. Keep on doing it your way, i like it.

    What i cannot understand is why you haven't seen Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog further than 2nd episode!

  • Man that's tough! I managed to get 6 Penny heads on my third try though! Not bad for your first game! An intro screen would be a good idea, if you wanted to go that far with it.

    I never saw beyond episode 2...

    Yes it's very difficult, the first time I thought it was too easy so I changed some variables and i probably went too far . It isn't a very funny game, but I can improve it. I'll tell you what happens when you pick up 15 Pennys: a pickup appears that destroys every hammer and hammer projectile.

    Thank you and for playing it and for the advices, i will take them into account.

    PS. Oh and, midnight, Spanky tought me how to manage animations. Thank you for that too!

  • Thats great! Congratulations, very impresive graphics.
