  • updated topic with more sprites, i would very much like assistance with making space ships, missiles and asteroids...

    You can ether make the ships in the old style or the new style it's much easier to do it in the older style

    though if you can provide better versions of ether that would be great.

    any one willing to this small space game project will have full access to all development builds

    the sizes for the art

    image shown is 93px?81

    projectiles can be anywhere between 25x25 to 50x50

    enemy ships should be 90x90 to 140x140 for normal enemy's

    asteroids should be in the range of 160x160 to 210x210

    explosions sizes is what the artist feels best :)

    Boss ships should be 170x170 to 350x350

  • Yeah, it was pretty rough concept at the time, that screenshot was about build 9 or 10 of the project, i had almost just started making the sprites (compare the ship to the current one)

    i just showed it to showcase on how the art developed and evolved in the period of time, i had to make it :)

    The current hud is not as rough looking.

    I'm still looking for sprite artists and sound makers if any one is interested. if not i will try to develop as far, i can with projectiles and backgrounds :)

    I might release all my projectile sprites in the end if all else fails.

    Note what you see in this screen shot some objects are not static such as the lights at the top of the screen and the suns.

  • Hello Every One, it's nice to be here.

    I started a small project for developing my own 2d game it has about 3 months of development in the graphics development category doing all the games weapon sprites, huds, design documents, story.

    but at the start of the project, i was limited by unable to do space ships or humanoid sprites, i continued the development with out the ability to draw them and unable to make sound effects.

    I have come here for feed back and some assistance to complete this project on constuct 2

    Here are screen shots from the construct 1 builds of the game, i have tried very hard to overcome my inability to draw space ships and do sound effects by developing trying to develop really high quality sprites.

    Note there are about 15 level's and roughly 20-25 projectiles with at 1-2 sets of animation. (all the energy projectiles are almost done)

    If your interested in helping with this small project your welcome to help if your able to make space ships and backgrounds for atmospheric levels.

    there will be once weekly builds for the project, every one is welcome to provide feedback with all of that small details about the work on the project out of the way you must be wondering exactly what is this about and the story behind this space game.

    Planed features are quite different then most space games, I'm currently taking a very complicated concept to Invert incoming fire, ships and structures to become more suitable to the players situation.

    Also, it's not the typical type of inversion where it would just turn the projectile around, this type will change the type of projectile it will ether become a inverted projectile or be blown to bits.

    The game is built around this feature, once the play tests start i will know if the feature is worth keeping.

    Currently the story is about a highly experimental technology the N.A.T.S system, the purpose of the system was to design a weapon that could adapt to any technology encountered but the project grew to the level of awareness that caused panic among the creators, they attempted to destroy it they propelled it out into space, After 150 years of drifting a alien race discovered the lost technology and attempted to examine it, after being hooked up to there computer systems, the technology at first seemed inactive.

    this is where the game pretty much starts, i know the story is not exactly great but it works.

    The alpha builds of the game will be available for all to play, just allow me some time to convert them to construct 2 (should not take long)

    Thanks for reading this and hope you will enjoy it in the end as for a name for the project there where quite a few names but for the time, i focused and developing the art style and type of game, i was doing. rather then focus on the name.
