  • I was just on the reddit Construct2 group when someone came in and asked any famous Construct2 games , any games that did well? Thats the type of questions I want to avoid in the future or at least point the person to one page. Honestly we have 3 mobile games right now that is killing the downloads that Hungry Hal has, yet Hungry Hal is on the front page.

    See thats the problem when you feature a game on mobile that has 50,000 downloads rather then a game like Ignatius that has close to 500,000 downloads. Thats when you know its time to update the list. I mean if Construct2 developers don't have the time , can I be a temporary moderator to fix the showcase please? Ashley Tom

  • Depreciate to what would be the question? If HTML5 were to depreciate then Facebook would go down quickly since that was the 1st major site to fully be made in HTML5.

    Ok lets break it down logically

    First a new programming language would have to come out and then all the major web browsers and phones would have to adopt it. That could take 10 years before its fully implemented.

    Adobe flash support has been downgraded because of HTML5 yet people still make flash games and mobile games with adobe air. So even if HTML5 were done you still would be able to use it , the developer would just have to make a native exporter in that case.

    Why HTML5 won't die and you don't have to worry!!!!

    https://www.w3.org/ Is the group that controls which programming languages are going to die and which stay on the web. They are actively working on improvements to HTML5 going as far as to doing some of the grunt work themselves that they usually task to other developers to do which is a shock because they mainly just test and approve. Dude , don't worry HTML5 is in the Kings spot its not going to die anytime soon.

    I'm just discussing and mentioning possible issues that could happen with the introduction of a new showcase system.

    No fight I was just explaining why we do need a new showcase. We badly need a new showcase to bring new users to Construct2 and also to raise the bar for the new people coming here. Right now we have a reputation that this is some simple engine and we can't make serious games. The reputation spead to online arcades and publishers, so we have a tougher time being excepted.

    Check out City of Ember , its a console quality game being made with Construct 2. Also on mobile Ignatius is amazing these games belong in the front page. Notice I don't mention my games because I haven't made anything front page worthy yet. But my next project will be great.

  • Another solid project made with Construct2. Programming wise I can tell this took a lot of work because one I started programming a progression system in my game the complexity went up. Your game is like final fantasy tactics as far as style of play. Keep up the good work!!

    I think that the Scirra Arcade does this quiet well already, also I will guarantee that some people will start complaining like:

    "WHY DID MY 'FNAF4 FAN EXTREME REMAKE PART26' NOT GOT FEATURED ON THE PAGE!?!?!?"

    I guess that the website will get a fresh look as soon as C3 comes out anyway.

  • EDIT: Its finally out guys!!

    Ok guys I really worked on this game to make it vry fun. Its a 2D shooter with a cool plot twisting storyline to it. I worked really hard to make sure the gameplay was smooth and enjoyable.

  • I'am pretty sure publishers don't care what you use as long as the end product is great. You can't throw flappybird and doodle jump clones in thier face and expect them to take you seriously. You need great graphics and somewhat of a deeper gameplay mechanic to get publishers to want your game or app.

    Its in the arcade now , your going to have a lot of fun!! Plus its coming to Android in a 1/2 day. All mouse control click on left or right side of screen to shoot in that direction. You start off weak but can upgrade when you save up cash.
