  • Right, it doesn't lag, just crashes. The largest files are the Spriter scon's--heavily compressed in the APK and presumably uncompressed at some point on the device--but they're necessary for the animated sprites. The images are just 7.70mb total and audio only 6.71mb total.

Ok so you did read what I wrote about sprites too large you get black screen. Now what size is your spriter images ? 400x400 ,500x500 ,etc.

Also what file type are the spriter sprites? .png .jpeg?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • by Reference i mean Referencing the Construct 2 code like setting up the foundations so that when i make the game on Game Maker i Have a Code to Look upon when i get lost

That actually doesn't make sense just choose one game engine and stick to it. Gamemaker and Construct2 are totally different. Game Maker uses a condensed version of C++ and Construct2 uses javascript.

  • Thanks I'll check it out now.

Ok did you see some things that you can change or you did the things in the list?

  • Read this post I wrote and then ask your specific question there

  • for highscore go here

for saving game states , money systems go here

  • Are you looking for highscore or game save in general I got examples of both?

    > Currently I'am working on a semi-large project and of course use save features to store information. The save feature basically saves the game whenever you beat a mission and it unlocks access to the next level. To make my life easier I have a global variable that is linked to a localstorage key. Both are linked to each sprite that represents my level selection menu.

    > </br>

    > Now for the bug in Construct2 that randomly occurs. I put the code in to each sprite that if the global variable = a certain amount that sprite changes animation, plus its unlocked. For some odd reason Construct2 changes my global variable code randomly to another global variable, so when I run the game the next level is not unlocked. At 1st I thought it was me but now its happened right in front of my face. I save the game and the code changes right after I saved. 1st time I saw it I was like what the fack LOL.

    > </br>

    > So if your save keys and variable somehow don't work, check over your code real quick before going nuts. It doesn't happen all the time but when making a large project it will start to happen, at least with me it does.

If you use the "Save / Load" system actions then this is normal.

So if you load a save game, you also load the values of the variables at the moment the game was saved. And that could lead to such an issue.

Even if it's easy to use, the Save and Load function caused more problems than it solves (at least in my games).

Check the photo on the top of page 3 it shows the exact problem.

  • I use Construct rr227 version , xdk automatically updates.Did you delete the project and redo it?

  • Hello, I cannot post links to these forums. Delete the space to access the link.

    anothergames .com/games/html5/Findthepairs/index

Its not a top down shooter its a pairs game.

  • You program it. Set a variable to your tutorial, when the tutorial is finished then save it so the tutorial will not pop up again.

  • Where is the demo or game?

  • PixelPower its possible to addd your code to my game when in my game i have 3000 sprites?

If you waited till you have 3,000 here is a tip in the future ask the question before you got that far into the game. Honestly I never made the type of game where you need things permanently destroyed. What type of game are you making?

    Kyatric statements like this

""double check everything" but assumes that Construct "magically" changes values.

    Right, makes sense.

There you go again you post the part you want to post but not the part that started the back and forth. This was your statement that started the whole back and forth. You don't want to admit you were being a smart-a$$. Basically its like the old saying mess with the bull, get the horns. I only respond to people the way they respond to me. Had you not said

""double check everything" but assumes that Construct "magically" changes values.

    Right, makes sense.

No of this would have happened. Ok speaking on helping people what happened here?

You couldn't understand the issue, good thing I came in to save the day haha its a bird, its a plane, no its Super Pixel Power to help when Kyatric can't LOL!!!

  • Best to delete the project from XDK and then try it again. Or when you export project select XDK build. WHich version of Construct 2 are you using by the way.

  • I think a lot of it is actually done by paid humans who can circumvent any restrictions we put in place. So unfortunately we have to just clean it up sometimes.

No problem is there a way to give a few users the power to put spam it in a hidden section where moderators can delete it? There are times where spam goes on for a long while and if new people come here and see this, they will think Construct2 is amateur hour and leave.
