  • Thanks for all the replies, guys. I've been contacted by a few different people and am discussion options. I'm still interested in seeing what you guys would price a task like this at, if you were to bill outright for it. If there's any more information you'd need to make a proper price quote let me know! Thanks

  • It was a joke. I mean 99 cents.

    Ahh, I get it lol

I'm a software developer myself, and would be very interested in doing a co-operation together. contact me if you like this idea....

I would definitely be interested in discussing it with you, I can't send PMs on the forums here (Not enough rep), Do you use skype? maybe we could chat a bit on there?

  • 99 copper

    What does that mean?

  • ok my bad, i guess you're right, I tried to rationalize why it wouldnt fit there, but yeah it does belong there, ill delete and repost. Sorry!

*edit* i dont think I can delete this and I dont want to double post.. If a mod sees this please move it to the appropriate section

  • Hey everyone!

I have a game Idea, I have all of the art developed, and I can design a lot more easily. What I dont have is time (or, lets be honest, the drive) to learn to develop it, thats where I need your help! Without going into too much detail, I'll give a basic concept of the game; It is a mobile game (I am not a fan of apple products so I dont care if it goes to iDevices, but I definitely want it on the android market for both phones and tablets). The game will be about balancing an object, while avoiding obstacles and collecting powerups, so the tilt feature of mobile devices will be the most important aspect of the game. it sounds dumb but i think the concept and the art will make it popular.

Here's some necessary features to the game to help with a price quote:

*20+ unique levels with parallax backgrounds and various simple animations.

*50+ different looks for the object (different colors, different shape, patterns ect) and an option for the user to customize the object by selecting what they want to include.

*Various "power-ups" and "power-downs" (i.e. slow down time (powerup) or speed up time (power down) among others)

*parallax backgrounds and foregrounds with looping or side to side animations

*object animation (changes in the image when in different locations)

*obviously some kind of menu systems

*ads, and the option to buy it to not have ads

    *other basic mobile game setups

What would you charge me for this? I'm going to get this finished, and if your price is reasonable, I'll gladly pay you for your work. Also, I do graphic design so if you're looking for graphic help, maybe we can work out a barter or something. Either way, Please let me know if you have any questions or what your rate would be. If you don't want to post here, you're more than welcome to PM me, or email me at (Just put something relevant in the subject like "Construct2 Game Developer" or something.

I look forward to hearing back from you all, and I appreciate any input you can give! Also, Moderators, if this is in the wrong section I apologize in advance, Please feel free to move it to a more appropriate area.

    Thanks again!

  • Hey everyone! I am a graphic designer with over 10 years under my belt, my primary focus being in logo/branding design. I figured I would offer my services here, and see if you guys were interested!

I have a diverse background, from corporate designs to much more creative design work (I've lately been focusing a lot with electronic musicians) But you can rest assured, I am a very versatile artist and I'm confident that this will be beneficial to your game or company, as well as my portfolio.

My logos range from $150-$200, but I am also willing to work within a fair budget.

Here's some examples of my logos:

  • Hey everyone!

I currently have a small team formed, working on our first game title. It's a sidescroller running game. Our current team consists of a talented Concept artist, a great music/sound developer, an awesome coder (Using Construct2) and myself doing the game assets and marketing. This game is going to be released online via our website, as well as in the android play store (and if it is popular, other platforms)

We are looking for a creative artist to help with background development. We do have concept sketches made up for several levels, I just find myself falling short as an artist on the background design. We have plenty of resource materials, and a solid concept for the game - just looking for a little extra help! The art style we're going for is fairly cartoony.

Although we can't offer cash up front for the designs, you would of course receive credit for your art, and if we do end up making any cash from adsales or otherwise, you would be contracted a fair percentage. other than that, we are all working hard just so we feel accomplished, and also have an end product that will be great for our portfolios.

I'll be glad to share more information and samples of our current art to the right candidate! If you're interested, shoot me a message here, or message me on Skype - my skype name is insaynnyasni

I look forward to hearing from some folks and think this can be a great opportunity for everyone involved!

  • I recommend you check out Spriter (http://www.brashmonkey.com/) it's a great software for animating, you can use Bones (Which is EXTREMELY handy) and it's only 25 bucks. I think they are working on porting it into C2 as well?

Either way, you can make some really fluid animations using spriter, and it is actually really good at tweening your animation frames as well.

    I would definitely recommend it

  • I use photoshop to design everything, from sprites to assets to backgrounds. I have become really well versed in using vector shapes in photoshop though, so my art is still designed in vector (just output to a raster format)

I'm also self taught, I started using MS paint when I was really young, and have graduated several times since then to newer and better software until I finally got my own legit copy of Photoshop.

Just remember if you're ever trying to use Photoshop for your game assets, the line and shape tools will come in very handy ;) Also if you use a stroke layer effect, it gives a nice cartoony line to all your art ;)

    Good luck!

  • there's lots of ways to get started, the best method I've found is to get a general concept in writing/sketches, and piece it together. one thing I always tell people to keep in mind is don't get too overzealous, start small and build on that foundation. Lots of indie game developers think their first demo has to be smashing and perfect, but it doesnt. You make a strong foundation, have a select group of people test it/play it, and give you their input, then you polish up some stuff, and have them test it again.

The best thing is to get a strong concept, and a strong foundation for the game, then you can start putting up the walls :P

But as a quick answer, I usually try to start with a written concept, and a few sketches to help me get my creative juices flowin :)

  • haha excellent post :)

  • Im new to game design, mostly focusing on Sprites/assets, but I also like making backgrounds. My art style is pretty cartoony, but I can also design art with an edgy look. My background is mostly logos and such, but I've been getting into illustration lately.

I've attached a few images of my more recent projects :) Hope you like em.<img src="http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/993293_595100257178429_1255173635_n.png" border="0" />

  • whats up folks!

been silently part of the forums until recently when I posted that I am interested in supplying art in exchange for coding. Didn't get much of a response but that's ok, I've still met some great members of the Scirra community, and look forward to the future using C2.

About me, I'm 28, from California. I'm a graphic designer, over 10 years doing various art freelance. I'm really good at logo development, and am branching out to sprite and asset design. So far it's been a lot of fun, and I've learned a lot about designing for games.

Ive recently taken on a couple projects for different people, and am enjoying this new experience. I look forward to getting better with C2, and possibly working with some of you talented folks in the future!

Thanks Scirra for making great software, and thanks for reading everyone :)
