  • I solved it, I was programming the mechanics, the movement animations, and the collisions without a player box. Thanks for the help!

  • Hello everyone,

I am facing a problem with my character's animation in Construct 3. I have created an animation with 10 frames and have set the origin to the bottom center for all of them. However, when I run the animation, I notice that there are jumps between the frames.

These are the steps I have already tried:

I have trimmed the excess transparent edges in each frame.

I have ensured that all frames have the same dimensions.

I have manually set the origin to the same position for each frame.

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. I believe the problem might be related to the alignment of the character within each frame, as it visually appears that the character is not perfectly aligned between different frames.

To help diagnose the issue, I am sharing a .c3p file with two versions of the animation: the first as a sprite strip and the second as individual frames with the origin set to the bottom center.

Could anyone suggest any method or tool within Construct 3 to consistently align the frames and avoid these jumps? Any tips or techniques you have used would be very helpful.

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Lionz, I've solved it! I applied the player box technique, and it's working correctly now. Thanks for the help!

  • Thank you for the response, Lionz.

  • I'm encountering a small issue with my platformer game created in Construct 3 and was wondering if anyone could help me out. When my sprite goes up or down slopes in the game, it starts to shake in a strange manner. I've tried adjusting various things, but I haven't found a satisfactory solution yet. Has anyone else experienced this issue before or have any ideas on how to fix it?

I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions you can offer. Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Yes, I'm using a walking animation. The game is a platformer with its corresponding well-defined behaviors. The problem occurs when the character stands still halfway up the inclined platform. It seems to have a sort of epileptic attack, and well, I've tried adjusting the collision mask to polygons and even rectangles. Nothing has worked for me, and there's not much information online. This issue is completely halting the development of my project. I hope someone can help me. Thank you. I accidentally posted this in Construct 2.

  • I have configured both the bounding box and the polygon collision box, and it gives me the same error.
