  • Hi all,

I am trying to get some polish in a game I am working on before the IndieCade deadline. I want to create a glow effect similar to the one found in Monaco. Any idea of th best way to do this?

    Thanks,

    Christian

  • Hello friends,

As many of you know I have been working on a video game, "Leroy Johnson in the Greatest Video Game Ever Made." The game is an action/role playing game that promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) careers while providing a fun gameplay experience on par with typical commercial games.

We are trying to raise $8,500 over the next 30 days to continue this project and would really appreciate your support. You can help by donating, spreading the link to your friends and family, and providing feedback (hopefully positive!) on Facebook and our Kickstarter page. Thank you in advance for all of your help! The link to the Kickstarter is below:

We were recently made a staff pick on Kickstarter. Help us keep our momentum!

    Sincerely,

    Christian

Leroy Johnson in the Greatest Game Ever Made is a unique action/RPG for the PC, Mac, and Linux that uses science, technology, engineering and math concepts to advance the gameplay. We believe we can use STEM concepts to provide a unique and exciting gameplay experience. The game's non-linear run and shoot gameplay will be familiar to fans of the Mega Man genre. We think we are taking it a step further by introducing puzzles and unique items that helps to create an experience similar to what you would find in the Legend of Zelda Series. We take the game a step further by introducing a class subclass system that introduces unique skills and abilities, passive traits, and access to unique "devices" (There are no traditional "weapons" in this game).

  • Good Afternoon Everyone!

My game development team, SpriteSoHard Studios, is currently in the ?prelaunch hype? phase of our kickstarter campaign. Leroy Johnson is a non-linear platformer inspired by a combination of 1960-70?s blaxploitation and science fiction films. The music was developed by Grammy winning artist and producer Darryl Pearson. He was worked with Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliot and Timbaland. We have a real development budget and we plan on really pushing the limits of Construct.

We really hope we can get the support of the Construct community on this project. Please visit our Steam and Kickstarter pages to see screenshots, hear about updates and provide feedback!

  • Hi Joejoe. This is nice but I would be looking for traditional hand drawn work that is consistent with the rest of the game. You're work is great though and we will keep you in mind!

    Thanks,

    Christian

  • FYI-Just so you guys are aware we hired our lead Construct developer off a similar posting a few weeks ago and we have had a great relationship. I hope we can find a motivated artist from this post.

    Thanks,

  • Good Morning,

I am looking for an artist who can develop a Super Mario Bros 3. style level map consistent with the art style in our game "Leroy Johnson in the Greatest Video Game Ever!" (www.spritesohard.com). We expect the final product to be a little more than two times larger than the map in SMB 3. Concept descriptions, art, and game design documents are already prepared.

Regarding compensation we are flexible with pay and equity. We ask that only those who are over 18 and have a functional knowledge of English apply. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved on a project that is well into development.

Please respond by PM or send inquires to lcpearsosps@umich.edu with a sample of your work.

    Thanks,

    Christian Pearson

  • Yeah its my name...

So people have a better idea of who we are along with some of our non profit projects please visit spritesohard.com.

  • Good Morning!

SpriteSoHardStudios (www.spritesohard.com) is finalizing a prototype for our game (developed on Construct) which we hope to have on Kickstarter by late November-early October.

We intend to have about 10 8-bit retro levels in the game as easter eggs. We need a talented 8-bit retro sprite artist (NES style-megaman 2, mario 1) who can commit to a fairly large project that will go on for about 6-8 weeks. Pay would be between 10-15 dollars an hour. Because of our somewhat tight deadlines we ask that the artist be over 18,

If you are interested please email me at lcpearsohra@umich.edu or Skype at levichristianpearson.

This is a really exciting project. We have a very talented team, including a Grammy winning sound lead. We look forward to hearing from you!

    Thanks,

    Christian Pearson

  • Hello all!

I am looking for advanced Construct 2 developers to work on a a project that will involve a series of discrete, complex tasks and last approximately 2 months. The deadlines will be very tight but I will pay $15 (unfortunately we can't provide equity at this stage) an hour plus early completion incentives. The number of hours will be agreed upon before initiating each specific project. The project involves the development of a metroidvania game prototype. I can be reached at lcpearsobbk@umich.edu.

Please only email if serious about the project and willing to devote the necessary time to complete the project. For more details you can see my previous post regarding this request.

    Thanks,

    Christian
