  • Ethan, looking really cool, can't wait for the finished game!

    Good luck with it   <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • GeometriX, thanks very much! I really appreciate the help    <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hey GeometriX, retrodude,

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, hope you don't mind.

I've been trying to use particles to create a splatter effect myself, but I didn't like the results!

Wanted to check out GeometriX's example, but the link seems to be dead! Any chance one of you could post it again for me?

    Thanks a bunch    <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Nathan, sorry for the late reply, haven't been around for a while :)

Thanks for the useful info, I'll give it a try!

  • Thanks yogert96, blackhornet, both very useful links, I'll check them out :)

Whiteclaws, as mentioned above, I did already do a forum search, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I had seen the manual entry on Sprite Font, but it doesn't go into much detail on how to make a font sheet, hence my question! But thanks for your input anyway, it made me chuckle ;)

  • Thanks Whiteclaws, the wonders of modern technology huh! <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Thanks for the support yogert96, it can be difficult when you're still new to all of this. I think sometimes it's easy for others to forget what it was like when they first started! <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hi all,

I've only just started to learn about sprite font, and noticed that we now have an official plugin.

But I'm not sure how to use it, or how I can make a font sprite sheet? Are there any tutorials or good threads that show how this is done. I have searched, but I've been unable to find anything useful yet!

    Thanks.

  • Thanks for the info thehen, I'll give that a try.

  • thehen, thanks for the update, it is working like a charm.

Unfortunately my project is still called WindowPhonePluginForConstruct2. I tried changing everything with that title to the name of my project, but that just broke it!

Could you post a list of all the places where the name should be changed, to make it match our own projects. And could you include any other changes we should make e.g. publisher I.D., product I.D. etc.

I think this could help a lot, thanks

  • Thanks thehen, that's great! I'll keep my eyes open for it.

  • Hi thehen,

Seems like you've been working hard to make a lot of improvements to the plugin (thank you!).

There have been so many changes since I last looked. I was wondering, did you ever get the chance to put together a comprehensive tutorial for the plugin (I looked, but couldn't find one).

    Thanks again!

  • exkage,

Thank you for taking the time to reply :)

  • Hi all,

I am trying to create a swipe navigation to move around a map. I have created a test capx using the image below.

    <img src="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/101200636/scrollGrid.png" border="0">

    capx

I want to be able to use a swipe gesture (up/down, left/right) to move the map to centre on the next square. I have managed to get my capx to move between the 1st and 2nd squares (red and blue) but it won't go to any others. I don't know why, I maybe doing it completely wrong! I would also like it to scroll smoothly but at the moment mine just pings to the next square.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks.

  • Animmaniac,

Your example is really good, and does almost exactly what I want. But I don't want to use the canvas object and separate layouts.

I want to create a large layout (5000 x 5000) and a smaller window (1000 x 1000). When the player swipes, I want the window to scroll to the next section of the layout, so it seems as if its moving through sections of a grid!

Not sure if that makes any sense, but I've tried a few things and failed.

Do you have any advice or ideas you could offer.

    Thanks
