  • You can jump on vertical surfaces (like in the Mega Man X series).

Ah, okay, yeah, he is a human. He's wearing a bear skin, but I guess that's not as obvious as I'd hoped. His eyes are showing through the bear's mouth.

  • Try Construct 3

  • It looks really cool, looking forward to the demo!

  • Thank you :)

I realize that the demo is a bit too short though, I'll post an update with a some more content soon. Here are a couple of screenshots:

  • Thanks! Yes, that's the end of the demo. I've updated it now to make that more obvious.

  • Hi guys!

I'm working on a Mega Man inspired, dinosaur themed platformer. It's nowhere near finished, and it's still riddled with bugs, but I feel like I've gotten far enough that I could use some feedback on the game mechanics and art.

The sound effects are just something I threw together in a hurry and will be replaced later. I stole the music from another game that I made a while ago (written by Niklas Karvonen of Machinae Supremacy fame), so that's going to change as well.

Anyway, please try it and tell me what you think :)

  • Down again?

Well, no, it should be up. What problems are you experiencing?

  • First of all, sorry for bumping my own thread. The site (http://hurbo.pitebros.com) has been down for quite a while, but now it's back up, so I thought I'd let you guys know

  • Good suggestion, mercuryus, I've turned the text volume down a bit now.

Cryttexx: Do you mean the Star Wars hyper driver-like graphical effect? I just have a bunch of star objects that I rotate toward the same point. Then for each tick, I stretch them out a bit:

    WarpStar.width * 1 + (Timer^2 / 10000)[/code:5s89gt9t]
Finally, I start moving all stars away from the same point.
  • Thanks a lot, Marius87! Cryptwalker, there's currently not a desktop version, but maybe I should publish one?

Anyway, I've updated the game in several ways: There are a couple of new sound effects and particle effects, and I've fixed some game breaking bugs. Play it here: http://hurbo.pitebros.com

  • Hi everybody!

I'm Nicklas Nyström, a programmer from northern Sweden. I'm 27 years old, and in about two weeks I'm going to become a father. I'm looking forward to that like crazy, but I realize I won't have as much time for my favorite hobby, which is making games.

Because of this, I've hurried up a bit and finished one of my projects (https://www.scirra.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=148&t=171398&p=1029682#p1029682). My goal is to publish one more before the kid comes (highly unlikely), or at least to get a nice demo up and running (kind of realistic).

So, wish me good luck and have a nice Friday

  • Glad you liked it! Well, as the game progresses you'll need to start using the phase power more sparingly. I didn't want the first few levels to be too difficult (although maybe they should be, considering how short the game is). What did you guys think, was it too easy or too difficult?

  • Thanks! Guess I need to make it a bit longer. And much, much harder

  • Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it!

I've been meaning to update the dialogs to use the same font as the intro text, so that's on its way. I'll also see if I can do some cool changes to the particle effects.

    Again, thanks

  • Hi everybody!

I'm Nicklas Nyström, a programmer from northern Sweden. I love making games: or rather, I love to start working on a new game, but I suck tremendously at finishing my projects. Now, however, I've finally finished something (yaay!). It's a retro style space shooter, and you can play it here:

    http://hurbo.pitebros.com

It works on both computers and smartphones. The music was made by my friend Niklas Karvonen, the rest was made by me.

Have fun playing, and please tell me what you think!
