  • Mostly a question for Ashley and Construct team...I was just curious on the likelihood of ever integrating support to export directly to Sony or Microsoft consoles? With the addition of WiiU and now that gamemaker supports ps4 and xboxone exports, it would be awesome to see this added to Construct 2.

  • Firefox runs smooth for me, but my gamepad won't work when I run the game in firefox.

I haven't looked into it recently though, but I remember in the past it was known that only chrome would support gamepad with construct 2. Is that correct? And is there a way to get the gamepad working now in Firefox?

  • So is the conclusion that this latest node-webkit isn't worth using?

    > Performance seems to have taken a small hit, in both Chrome and Node-Webkit, but the biggest issue is I don't think WebGL is working anymore. When I run my project in Chrome or Node-Webkit my effects do not work anymore. I have some brightness settings on some background objects, and they don't work now.

Nardonicus, Which nVidia card are you using?

I just got a gtx660 2gb card. I thought maybe it was related to my new card at first, but it sounds like its the new Chrome issues, as I am also still on Vista.

Ugh, this sucks. I will try some of the fixes Ashley recommended for now. Probably should upgrade to windows 7 at some point anyways, but I don't understand why Google would do that with Chrome...weird.

  • Just confirmed in the debug layout:

When running my project in Node-Webkit or Chrome it is using the Canvas2D for the renderer.

When I run in Firefox it uses WebGL. Effects work here and performance seems to be a little better too.

Is this a known issue? or happening to anyone else?

  • Not sure if this is the right thread or not, but I am having some issues now as well using v163.

Performance seems to have taken a small hit, in both Chrome and Node-Webkit, but the biggest issue is I don't think WebGL is working anymore. I just updated my nVidia drivers to latest, and my chrome is latest too (v33).

Has anyone else been seeing anything like this?

  • Now that the PS4 and Xbox One have been officially announced, do we know if they will support html5?

Sony, with the PS4, really seems like they are going to do whatever they can to support indie developers. It would be awesome for folks using construct 2 to be able to easily get their games onto the Console.

Is it possible for a proper/official exporter to be built for XBox One or Ps4? Or would the game have to be ported over using some kind of a wrapper?

  • Cool, thanks for the replies everyone. I will try some of those suggestions out. Genki, Maybe that request full screen request will work.

My buddy pointed out the layout scale function, which I didn't know about before, but has worked well for just getting my game to boot up at a decent(presentable) size.

I guess if you are running the game in windowed mode, its not a big deal to just resize the window to whatever size you want, but it would be nice to give the player the option to switch to FullScreen mode and back from within the game/menus.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Is there a way to set the size of my window when launching my game that has been exported with Node-Webkit?

My window and layout size settings in Construct 2 are set pretty small, since I am using pixel art. When I export with Node-Webkit and then launch, it starts out pretty small. Its not a big deal for me to just resize the window, but it would be nice to have something a little more professional. Like an option before it launches to set the window size, or say if I want it full screen or not.

Does anyone know of way to do this? Thanks.

  • Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum. Just started working on some of my own personal projects. I have been messing around with Game Maker, but a friend of mine recommended Construct.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but does Scirra plan on incorporating official support for creating builds that will run on iOS natively and can be sold through the app store?

    Thanks
