  I figured it out after hours of fiddling. I had to click on "use hardware accelerated graphics" in FireFox settings under performance.

  When I open a tiled background object and try and edit the picture, no editing tools work using the Firefox browser. I opened a new project in chrome and I can draw edit the tiled background in chrome. I absolutely cant stand chrome and have been using Firefox for decades and would rather use Firefox. Anyone else having this issue?
