This is what I did: gyazo.com/e3282f99f6078d7a2cca0b700bef83b9

    Thank you SO MUCH

  • I never actually used instance variables but I will try both

Thank you so much for the hints!

  • Oh i see

I still dont have the reflex of creating new global variables yet.. Thanks! I'll try it as soon as possible

  • Didnt know that

Thanks for sharing and congratulations for finding out!

  • Hey there, it's me again

After an uninteresting runner I thought I might try to do something more complex and started working on this gyazo.com/67699e12010e60bfa776543122ce6dcc .

Now what I would like to achieve is to be able to unpin an object from the character and take control of it. I tried this gyazo.com/06bf67884585ff080c98e1c08ccf017d but even when I press X nothing happens.. Do you have any hints?

Then again I'm not trying to get a complete answer, maybe just an explanation on what the global idea is..

    Thank you!

  • Maybe if you make the speed value negative or something like that?

  • I didnt even know Construct 2 could do that.. pretty amazing

Thanks for asking and answering, could be super useful in the future, who knows!

  • I think you can also add a behavior that will make it solid, so nothing can pass through it. It should be in the attributes if needed

The collision box is editable and there are events "on collision" so you can decide what happens when the two objects touch

  • Hey there! I think this topic is a great idea and I find the works I see here very inspiring and it motivates me to keep improving

Here's Otto, the character I made for my very first game a few days ago

I also like to experiment a little..

Sometimes I also like to try in other styles

and I also use Maya from time to time

I'm still a student so yeah... I enjoy drawing though

  • Oh thank you!

I'm going to work on that now, thanks for your help

  • Fun and interesting

Thanks for sharing, I might use some of these advices later, even if I disagree with many points

  • Thank you paulscottrobson, it seems much clearer now

deathangel1479 the url to my project would be this one: dropbox.com/s/7v0qu5sh1ur0a2f/otto_legs.rar?dl=0

    Thanks to both of you

I will try again with the explanations I got and tell you how it went

  • I did read the answers but I guess I'm too new tot his to fully understand the exemples/questions.

    I can't post URLs yet

Anyways, thank you for your replies!

  • Hey deathangel1479, thanks for the tutorial

I've read this tutorial but still can't seem to fully get it since it doesnt work in my game. Guess I'll just try again with this tutorial, there's probably just something I'm missing

  • Hello there!

I'm quite new here since I started making my game two days ago. I'm kind of stuck with the Local Storage thing, mainly because I don't quite understand the whole logic behing this yet. I'm trying to set a High Score system for my infinite runner game.

So if anybody could state how this works in easy, understandables words or if you've heard about a "Local Storage for Dummies" tutorial I would be more than happy

I would like to manage to do it by myself so no need for any step-by-step explanation, just explaining the logic behind this would be just great!

    Thank you!
