    this is happen because you use keyboard is down event,

    which mean as long as the up keyboard is pressed down, it keeps telling the animation to play from beginning, so it freeze on the first frame

    you can either add once true condition, or use keyboard is pressed instead

    I mean the layer number or name where the object is located

    so if it's in layer 0 which is named Background set it to Mouse.x(0) or Mouse.x("Background")

    set the created object position on: mouse.X(layernumber/name) instead

  • I did this with my game using tint effect, not sure if it will affect performance though, so far there's no performance loss on my end

    you can set the max speed and deceleration temporarily,

    and then set it back to the previous value after the player regain control

    I think the problem jayderyu encounter is when we drag scml object from object bar, the object properties of SCML file came up empty
