  • My apologies for ressurecting a dead horse but I was wondering if it is possible to use a sprite sheet without it getting chopped into individual frames again on export. This will save a lot of downloading.

Edit: As usual the I am probably being a numpty disclaimer applies.

  • rexrainbow doh sorry man I hope you both take it as a compliment ;)

  • If you are using phone gap it is probably possible to use rex rainbows call javascript plugin to call the phonegap api's camera functions.

  • I nominate rexrainbow, the dude is a legend!

  • Try Construct 3

  • Yann to the rescue. Thanks man, will try this as soon as I wake up tomorrow.

  • In my event sheet I have 2 clickable objects. Sprite A and Sprite B

When you click on one of them spriteC starts moving up the screen an ajax call is triggered and a global variable called isMoving gets set to 1.

When the ajax call is completed the sprite changes direction until it gets back to its start position. At this point isMoving gets set back to 0.

The movement action is the same when both spriteA or spriteB are clicked but the ajax call is different.

My problem is that when I click sprite A and trigger spriteC's movement and ajax callA I can still click on spriteB which triggers spriteC's movement and ajax callB.

I would like to make sure that:

    While isMoving == 1

SpriteA and SpriteB are not Clickable

    Any pointers would be appreciated.

  • Ah gotcha, was being a der brain. Thanks Ashley.

  • Hey all,

I was thinking, it would be great if there was a checkbox on the export options to only export the c2runtime.js file. This will save a lot of time if you already have all your sprites but only want to test out changes in the runtime file.

  • Hey man, you would probably have to serve it up as some sort of web service that can be talked to via the Ajax plugin. stackoverflow.com/questions/299260/web-service-or-dll

Is this a DLL you wrote yourself?

  • Dude this is epic. Thanks a stack!

  • I have been experimenting with packing my own webviews using the Android SDK and the MotoDev Droid flavour of eclipse. Here is the basic tutorial:

    developer.android.com/develop/ui/views/layout/webapps/webview

There is quite a lot of easily copy/pasteable code on the android tutorial site to easily take control of things like "pause on call" and back buttons.

I have opted to use my own webviews over phone gap because my game/s are powered by a python back end. Also sound works a lot better when you are simply wrapping a hosted game into an APK. When I have some time I'll put up an eclipse project file and tutorial to make this easy.

  • The project is moving on a little. I wanted to package the front end for android so tried directly exporting to phone gap. However it uses oauth and sessions so it was a no go. With a little effort however I managed to wrap the app, served by flask into a webview using the Android Hello Web tutorial.

So far so good, the game is not finished yet but is nearly there.

I will post a webview tutorial soon for anyone who wants to wrap a server dependent app in its own webview or you can just head to the Android documentation and follow the tuts.

  • Nice one :)

  • harrio

I dont think it has a name, they called it "Mike pour me a cane", If you will permit me to name it I reckon either:

Red Lipped Herald (A water snake common to the part of Kwa Zulu Natal they lived in, Port Edward)

    or

Pop's Magic Mooti (Pop was my grandfather and mooti is South African slang for medicine)

They were both from a long line of African colonialists stretching back to the early 1700's so I am not sure if they invented it or it was learned from elsewhere. The white rum they drank is known locally as Cane Spirit, it has quite a history behind it, a little of which you can readhere. Its the one on the top: Mainstay. Pretty much South African pirate juice. I am sure pretty much any white rum will work just as well.

  • harrio sounds lush, my grandparents used to make something similar, fresh lemon juice, soda water, grenadine and white rum.
