  I want to implement a shooting style similar (read: Identical to) say, the good old Super Metroid game on the Snes. For those who don't know its a bit like metal slug too. I kinda need some hand holding here, I'm very new. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  Whenever my player sprite changes animation after colliding with a static enemy,the player and the whole screen "jumps" a few pixels upward, and I get this awkward flicker. The same thing happens when it changes back 2 seconds later. What gives?
