    I have done this before but I cannot seem to find a link to my game on my facebook page. Did you select see app timeline view to see it?

  • What did you do differently in the scirra tutorial on how to make a facebook game.

  • The biggest change is that there is no see app profile page. It has been replaced with an app timeline view. But with the new facebook version I can't seem to access my app.

    There is an option where you can build a custom page for your app but I haven't got that to work either. I think you might have to add the app in manually but again, I haven't figured it out.

  • So I recently tried to publish a Facebook game but I cannot. It seems that Facebook has changed a lot when it comes to how to submit a game.

    I tried to trouble shoot for about an hour today but without any success. Does anybody know how to upload a game to the new facebook?

  • Just out of curiosity if you can save files on to drop box shouldn't it be easy to publish to dropbox? It would save a little time moving folders. It' clearly a first world problem and if you could implement it, it would be very nice to have. I feel that this way you could test on servers much quicker because there is always a difference between servers and running it on your PC.

  • Game maker isn't that bad. Remember it has been out for 10 years. I like c2 a lot and I think it is the best 2d engine out there

  • Hmm interesting, Im away from my studio today. But I will try it when I get back. I think that this could really take out the leg work fro Scirra. Im not sure what the problem is or how it works. It might not work with the way C2 is set up. EIther way it would be awesome to get this up and running at least until the infrastructure is is set up for HTML 5

    I know this may seem a little odd but here is an HTML 5 to flash converter. The only reason I bring this up is that you if you want to sell your game to mindjolt or any other site like that you have to have a flash game. I have personally run into some problems where some sites like this do not accept HTML 5 games at the moment. I know that HTML 5 is the future but right now the infrastructure is set up around flash. Even Unity3D is coming out with a flash export.

    So I found this nifty little site that converts HTML 5 to flash

    Personally this is a great solution if you want to make flash games right now. Let's try out our games and see if we can make this service work for C2.

  • mammoth thanks. I'm not sure the max size chrome will take, but it is at least 17.1MB I think that was the largest version I had on there.

    That's good. Honestly for casual games 20 MB is more than enough. The only time I have had a problem with space is when I make rhythm games. Sounds can be big. Luckily C2 has solved this problem.

    And yes Appmobi's fees are completely reasonable IMO

  • Ashley the upload size for chrome is higher than 10MB(my game hosted there is 16MB).

    Shut the front door! I wanted them to up the game size. All we need is IGP and we are set for the chrome store!

  • Well nobody is forcing you to go this route. Typically game development has been expensive and it is still expensive.

    How about you pay the 100 dollars a year, release 5 great games make some money and then you once you are rolling in cash you can easily pay the the other 100 dollars.

    Instead of thinking that appMobi is a predator trying to steal your money, try and see them as an enabler to your success. You want to make as many friends as you can in this world it's small and word gets around fast.

    Yes. It is extremely risky to do what appMobi does. If you want to make money you have to spend money 200 dollars is not a lot of money to start a business. The average cost to start a business about 10 - 15k. Most of the indie developers I know have spent that much on their business   to get it up and going. Game salad used to be 2k a year and is now 5k a year. Plus 6 games 200 dollars i

    AppMobi has to pay the bills and you can't do that by undercharging for the service. Unless you do not live in a first world country, 33 dollars an app is really not that much. People spend more money when they go to the bar.

    Again if your goal is to make money you simply have to spend money to make money. If your goal is to make awesome games for everybody. You can get a website and upload your game there.
