  • Hey Scirra, thanks for the regular, fantastic updates, the user interface design for C2 is now brilliant :) However, I've noticed one thing that would at least make my own life a bit easier (and hopefully others?)

Would you be able to put a Pathfinder 'Event' that checks the direction of movement for an object please (so as to assign animations specific to the direction of pathfinder movement).

    Thanks :)

  • Yes, my graphics card driver is up-to-date, however, this issue seems to have been resolved with your latest update anyway, thanks :)

Check failure! This is probably a bug:

  • Hi everyone, I'm Alex Lee. I'm a young games design graduate hoping that using C2 I will poterntially be able to set-up my own independent games development company at some point in the future.

I have developed only about 2 games worth playing so far (Splodge and Grit and Courage).

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Hey, if you're still looking for people to help you out then I'd be very interested as well :) (for story, music, 2D art or interface design)

  • hey, I'd like to help you out if you're still looking as this project sounds quite interesting :)

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Try to preview in browser

    2. play the game

    3.

    Observed result:

will not preview in browser (I assume the permissions might have been changed since preview last worked?)

animation issues - fire animation will not work, and I think the reason some of my scores will not display correctly is also an animation issue. (NOTE - fire animation works for the first second, then doesn't loop the animation)

    Expected result:

should preview in browser and animations should work

    Browsers affected:

    Chrome: untested

    Firefox: yes

    Internet Explorer: untested

Operating system & service pack: Windows 7, latest service pack

    Construct 2 version: latest Beta

  • sorry for the late reply, but R118 fixed the issue anyway, meaning it must have been the changes that you made to the checks on the browsers when going into preview that fixed it, anyway, thanks :)

  • Since updating to r115 and r116 I have been unable to preview my game for some reason. I am using Firefox to preview my game usually.

  • First of all, as usual, I would like to say thanks for already doing a fantastic job with the development of this fantastic software.

I woud like to make these suggestions for C2:

    * sound input support? (to record user sounds, for example if you wanted to for some reason create an app that helped the user record their band's music, etc)

    * Xbox live support? (yes, I know there's a dev fee for Microsoft, but, so long as we can export in the correct format, then at least we have option to save up for that pesky fee :P )

    * A 'competition' section within the forums (I'm not sure if there already is one, but I can never easily find where you're hosting the most recent competitions)

  • I've been using a massive amount of Construct 2 full version lately and I just thought I'd noticed some potentitally good ideas to help the users work-flow.

    Simple Suggestions:-

sprites can move towards the location touched x,y position and angle (it doesn't seem to be easy to do this when using the 'touch feature'

drag and drop re-organising of events in a simpler fashion (especially sub-events) and if events are dragged, then so must their related actions and sub-events be

    Less Simple Suggestions:-

a way to convert textbox into jpeg quickly when exporting for phones so that it causes less fuss using numbers for phone games

when saving to HTML 5 save everything to the one HTML document so it is easier for uploading as a webpage (or maybe I just don't know how to do this correctly?)

the ability to use actions that open up the drawing dialogues and tools for the player (so they can draw on the set layer (maybe it could be used for games where players can design their sprites own t-shirt, etc?)

users of Scirra uploading to the arcade may optionally purchase the ability to upload larger files?

  • This video is of a game I have recently finnished (more recent updates are not uploaded to the Arcade yet). However, it shows off some of my favourite Construct 2 features: the many different ways the player can interact with the game (such as 'drag and drop') as well as the great physics engine (I make use of bullet physics a lot within this game). The link to the video is here:

The game is Apocalageddon, my fast-paced and intence shooter.
