  • Thank you both for your time! I'll investigate all this and try to get it working :-)

  • I think doing that in JavaScript goes beyond my skills. By the way, it doesn't need to be Twine, just any of the common dialogue scripting systems.

  • Hi there!

I've been using Construct2 for a long time, I moved to Construct3 about a year ago.

When I wanted to do a dialogue (with branching, variables, conditionals, etc) in Construct2 I'd use plugins to integrate Twine, Yarn or Ink. I made my own systems using XML files a couple of times, but it seemed like a waste of time since any of the above was more polished and powerful.

I've been searching for a while, but all I saw were old plugins that weren't adapted for Construct3. Is there an easy way to get any of these systems (or a similar one) working on Construct3?

  • Hey guys!

I'm trying to use QueryString and QueryParam() values so players can share what they made in the game just by posting a simple url on twitter.

It works flawlessly when I access the game directly, however, I want to use an iFrame tag to embed the game somewhere else. I managed to create a page which sends the QueryString to the embedded game, but I'd like to post my project on itch.io and gamejolt, where I do not have control over the source of the website, just the game itself.

Do any of you know if it's possible to do it?

Probably a bit late to help, but instead of using the Twitter plug-in you could add a Sprite for the Twitter button and then when it's Touched/Clicked use Browser->Go to url-> "https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=" & YourMessageHere

Oooh, that's quite easier than using the twitter object. Thanks!

  • Hi!

Sorry, but I'm a bit of a hurry, trying to solve an issue so I can submit my Ludum Dare entry (I only have a few hours left).

I'm using the twitter button, it works perfectly on preview mode (both desktop and html5) but once I export it the twitter button is not even visible(both desktop and html5)

I'm still searching the forum for a solution, but I'd appreciate if someone could help me.

  • Hi,

I'm part of the small team making "Missing Translation", we have a devlog here with more information. We can only work part-time on the game, but we'll release it for free.

We've been offered a space in a big gaming event, but even when the price has been reduced, we need some help to pay for it. We decided to create a flash crowdfunding campaign. I don't know if you ever made one of these campaigns, but trying to launch one in less than a day (even if it's way simple) is awful and quite stressful.

We had nothing to lose so we did it.

Here's the link to the campaign

And here's something from the artist

Check our flash campaign and support us or share the link if you like the game.

    Best Regards!

Beneath the surface ... everyone has a secret. And for some reason they hide them in briefcases and put those behind locked doors. Steal them!

"Doors & Secrets" is a game for two players(no singleplayer mode) where they fight each other to get a briefcase which contains valuable secrets.

-You can get rid of your enemy for a few seconds if you stomp on him.

-There are some doors blocking your way, you'll need a key to open them, get it before the other player does!

    CONTROLS:

    Player 1: Arrow keys.

    Player 2: WASD

Misc: "P" pauses the game and "O" toggles fullscreen.

I realized that most people would play the game alone but I decided to make it anyway. I can't enjoy these games whenever I want but when I have a friend to play with I'm glad these kind of games exist.

  • Hi,

I'm looking for a 2D artist for my new project. It's an unpaid work because the game will be completely free. I'll publish it for Android but I might release a desktop version.

The game will be a puzzle game using the fake 3D effect I showed on this post.

And this is my blog in case you wanna check that I've done a few more projects before, one of them available for Android.

If any artist is interested just leave a reply, if possible show some art.

P.D.: Right now I'm not looking for any art style in particular.

  • Hi,

I wanted to recreate the fake 3d effect from classic games like "Dungeon Master" or "Eye of the beholder", so I used construct to make a prototype.

It's still work in progress but it's working, I just need to make a few more assets(you'll notice there are some basic ones missing) but the "coding" part is finished.

Here's the demo I made : Link to it

Use "WASD" to move and "Q/E" to turn around. On the left side it's the game itself, on the right side there's a mini-map.

I'd like to make a free Android game using this. Probably a puzzle game, even when this camera system was used by a lot of dungeon crawlers.

If anyone wants to help just leave a reply, I could use an artist if somebody is interested.

    (game + minimap)

I'm trying to clone the camera mechanics from old games like "Eye of the Beholder","Dungeon Master" and some other dungeon crawlers which used a fake 3D.

This is the first test I made, I'll try to finish it, but it's going to be a bit hard.

  • I was wondering how I could create a Fzero clone, like the one from SNES; it simulates 3D. It's pretty similar to Mario Kart (SNES or GBA version).

I thought I could make a variable to keep track of the distance driven by the player and then change the background according to that. For example, from km 10 to 15 there's a curve so the background changes its animation to one where there is a curve.

With a lot of events this system might work but in the original Fzero you could turn around and see the rest of the road; that is really hard to make if I were to use the system I imagined.

    gameplay example: youtube.com/watch

There must be a better idea to clone these games, what do you think?

    Ludum Dare entry

A super villain is trying to take over the world and a sidekick is the only one who can get in his way. But you are trapped in your lair and your nemesis is throwing fireballs at you. The worst part is that you only get one shield to deflect his attacks while you try to save the day. Being a hero(or a sidekick) is never easy.

    Controls:

Player 1- Arrow keys to move, jump and use tools.

Player 2- WASD to move, jump and use tools.

Misc- Z to zoom in/out, ESC to pause and P to advance text.

    Features:

    -Tutorial

    -Single Player mode

-Coop mode(which is fun even with just one player, try moving two characters at the same time)

-VS (not available right now, we'll add it in a future version)

-We set up a few difficulty modes but you may change everything as you wish(settings menu) and create crazy rules

    To be fixed:

-Music (Due to tech issues just one song was added, the game will feature more tracks in a future version)

    -Climbing animations -Minor bugs

-During the tutorial, when the computer tells you to press "return" it means the down key

    Notes:

-Linux and OSX versions will be uploaded as soon as possible

-We recommend using the desktop version instead of the web version

    Hope you like it!

  • "Simplicity" is an indie minimalist puzzle game where your task is to get rid of the red squares. Each time you touch a square it (and the ones surrounding it) will change their colour, will you complete every level included in this game? Will you be able to do it in just a few moves? (featuring over 50 levels)

A simple game made to disconnect from everything and relax for a couple of minutes.

Created by a single person (helped by a composer) in just a month as part of the Ludum Dare 2013 October Challenge.

New features will be included in future updates.
