  • Hi all,

First post so I hope I'm not going to upset anyone by asking about comparisons with a competing product <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> I've been using Multimedia Fusion 2 (and variants of it) for years, going all the way back to the Klik 'n' Play days.

While I like the program and find it easy enough to make fairly complex games in (and to this day my knowledge of "proper programming" is fairly minimal), it is pretty clunky and awkward at times, and I've been thinking of moving on. I've heard nothing but good stuff about Construct 2, but I just wondered if anyone who's used both could tell me how they compare.

Is Construct 2 any more/less powerful in terms of what it can do, is it easier to handle stuff like random number generation and algorithms (I do a lot of RPG-style stuff and the number-crunching in MMF can be frustrating), is there a built-in sprite and animation editor (one thing I do really like about MMF2)?

I know there is a free version which I have downloaded so I can find out for myself, and I do intend to over the next few weeks, but I just wanted to get an honest appraisal from someone who's used both.
