  • I'd like to fade in a sprite in a old school pixelated 8 bit fade in but I can't figure it out. I found this thread that had a link to a plugin called pixel-fadein but the dropbox link is dead. Anyone have it or know about another way to do it.

    you can easily do this by making some frames with the sprite editor, begin with the complete text frame, then duplicate and begin to erase some random pixels with transparent bakground color, continue duplicating frame next frame until you completely erase all Text.

  • Quasar is closely to be ready to the demo release.

    The demo will contain 3 levels of the 32 of the full game, will also have the multiplayer as well.

    Since im moving foward to be ready to release, i will need help for the steam, basicaly in use of the plugin, im ready to buy it, but i need it to be compatible to Construct3.

    steam api's are full documented, take in considertion to hire a programmer to implement them into your project.

  • It works ok on desktop, but at some point its not relyable; for some reason the browser delete the datas. Same issue on mobile, and it happend even quicker.

    I know that on local storage, the datas are stored on a cache file. I'm pretty sure that I did not setup my browsers to delete cache.

    For a scoring game starting over is pretty annoying, and I want to be sure that it won't happend!

    if you are been hable to reproduce in a capx i suggest you to fill a bug request

    that's strange, sure you programmed well local storage events? have you tested it in desktop export?

    i have made an android game with local storage use in recent past and it work perfectly, i don't have tested the newest C2 releases however

    oh ok i understand now, so this only change auto set when make a new project, but it is normal that opening an existing project that have set "default", the preview run into browser if my favorite its nw.js? it would be nice if this happened too.

  • I was thinking that too would be a fitting one, but it states when you choose it: "Tools are software programs which are related to game development. " and it seems like it would be pretty strict with that looking at the things available under that category.

    I went with "Sprites" under the section "Graphics" since I just checked and was able to spot some people having .ai files under that category as well.

    I just recently finished a game character making "tool" which is an illustrator .ai file which I would like to sell at the Scirra store, but I'm unsure what category I should put it in. It doesn't really qualify as a tool right? But would it qualify as "Sprites"? It's just the illustrator file.

    Anybody know perhaps?

    maybe the "gamedev tools" section??

  • As a mod, I would have to disagree with you.

    I already spend hours a day splitting / moving / moderating Topics posted by spam accounts that include numerous dodgy links. Those links could easily link to drive-by malware attacks, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone, especially some of the much younger visitors we get here.

    As R0J0 has said, it isn't difficult to add a link anyway, and there are numerous posts - and stickied Topics - around that tell you how to ask for help and post links. The 'faq' and especially the 'Tips for Posting' topics frequently go unread.

    yeah i see that too, those damned passport fake posts or similar

    understand your position, ideal would be a identity checked account but that could be very hard to manage and also discourage user on forum subscription

    there would be an alternative, to be able to upload a project file directly to the forum server, append the file into the topic window.. something similar to Scirra Arcade services but only reserved for file projects issues.. if it were possible it would be ideal

  • The limit was added as a spam fighting measure. There are still spam accounts that get through registration and blocking the links is the best way to stop them until a mod can recognize it as spam.

    Anyways, that doesn’t preclude new users from posting links. You can put the link inside code tags or add spaces in a few spots in the link. Or as a different user you can see the blocked link by just looking at the page source if you feel so inclined.

    At any rate, a new user will get enough rep in a short time anyway.

    you're right, but it is also true that spammers enter and spam anyway , while most users encounter difficulties in putting links and many times they desist from doing so because this block..

  • I want to ask this because it makes things very difficult for everyone. most of the new forum subscribers register itself to ask for support and most of the time they are beginners for whom also explaining itself is difficult, it makes them very necessary to ask them to link a project file to check it but here the problem arises because they can not link it. And everything is more complicated. I do not understand the reasons for this limitation but if it were possible to remove it would be better, I invite the staff to reconsider this rule.

  • hi Flipop I tried the capx, I did not find anything strange, apart from some lines of code of which I honestly do not understand the utility, the sprite seems to move correctly. what's the problem? do you want it to turn in the direction you are pressing?
