  • Put the click/touch events from a certain layer below/in a group.

then disable or enable the group s needed.

Is layer visible, could be added to events to check if the layer they are on is actually visible.

I'm sorry I should have been more specific. The C2/Nintendo relationship is a new one yes, but the Web Framework program in general for Wii U was announced last March during GDC 2013. I originally intended to code the games myself but then came across this excellent piece of software that cuts down on the development time and expense.

    Hehe, cool :D thanks

I am guessing you are one of few who got access already then.

I hope they speed up that acceptance system (or refusals for that matter)

Please take into consideration that the response to enter this program has been incredible and it may take them some time to contact you. I applied in March 2013 and got accepted in September 2013. It shouldn't take that long now that the program is in full swing but please consider they look at each application by hand. Rest assured they will get to you when your turn comes around.

Out of curiousity, why did you register last march ?

I was under the impression this co-op between cs2 and nintendo was only since recent.

  • I registered the first day this was made available.

I have not been contacted by Nintendo.

I have not, and can not see any specifications at this time.

Anybody been contacted by Nintendo yet ? Or seen those specs ?

Firefox doesn't support gamepads yet. Try Chrome or Firefox Nightly.

Note: As of Firefox 24, the Gamepad API is available behind a preference. You can enable it by loading about:config and setting the dom.gamepad.enabled preference to true. Nightly and Aurora builds of Firefox have the API enabled by default. We expect to ship release builds with it similarly enabled in Firefox 28.

I tested with mine, firefox 26.

I enabled above and worked perfect with my xbox 360 controller.

  • What exactly is your point?

You more or less confirmed what I said or misinterpreted what I tried to explain. Between only p2p and only a server side setup, I prefer the last, between both if I need to choose, I would still go with the last, and between a combination of both, of course I would take both to benefit from both of them. It just seem it was going to be one or another, if you can combine both of them, then great.

I was not trying to argue with you.

    How about this approach:

webrtc offering data connection taking your data trhough the webrtc supported nodjs, but then, a direct p2p implemented side by side to support voice chat as you play :)

Oh my ... heads will go boom.

  • Try Construct 3

  • can/will/does C2 have the ability to interact with MySQL? So say I create a peer server, could I then store/retrieve, say, user data using MySQL?

Would this all (peer server & MySQL) even be worthwhile?

A nodejs server can be extended with node-mysql.

    Also, you can combine techniques.

I combined a socket.io server connectivity with php/mysql/ajax connectivity. (socket.io for player updates and ajax for room and channel control)

I'm looking forward to brain explosions people are going to have when it's releasef and find the complexity of network games :D

    amen

  • A quick and dirty approach could be as simple as defining a global var with the name of the target site.

Meaning you would still have to export 3 times, but only change one variable for each export.

On the events where you use the needed sdk, simply add a subevent checking for the global variable.

Add a check for this variable where applicable to determine which to use.

There is also a method to check the URL of a website through the browser object, through this you could determine what the global variable should be and have the process automated.

  • Make sure to use the latest IE.

    Best results in IE 11.

  • So the wii-u stuff information is not allowed to be shared ?

Thats rather silly, seeing as most of the support relating to CS2 comes from the community members :\</p>

  • They already held a poll a number of months ago.

    http://www.scirra.com/forum/what-next-for-construct-2_topic50890.html

though a new one would be nice now that about half of them tackled.

I hadn't seen that thread yet, but its excellent :)

A new one would be great.

Personally for C2 we really need modularity and an IDE repo/store for developers. While I've seen a creep of contenders for "killer apps" coming. Having these two features could seriously push the technology for more and faster. All while building a better foundation.

I would love to see some sort of build in media library.

Options to import export certain objects or events sheets, and including such sheets or objects in projects.

    Would be great.

  • Free dropbox accounts are limited in their space and their bandwidth usage.

People could have deleted things to make room, or accounts could be over useage limits.

  • I ran into these babies, great stuff.

  • My point wasnt about the exporters specifically. Its the overlooking of other needed features.

Perhaps Scirra could do with a Poll, listing several development options, and have the community's say weigh in on the choice.

lennaert You say you disagree? it sounds like you agree...

I did not say more exporters is the right choice, it's just My take on the situation...

The lack of an official Scirra mobile exporter is a major omission from C2 only recently ludei's apparent distancing from C2 support has shown how relying on third parties is highly risky, in the past we had awesomium, another let down, now all hopes are pinned on crosswalk...

    <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> perhaps i'm agreeing

Awesomium ? lol sounds terrible, hehe.

I've been expecting "Export to Arduino" for a while now.

    <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

*pokes* no gl support though hahahahahah
