Kyatric's Forum Posts

  • I was following the old mentality: fully downloadable game and installer to "C:\games\". Is it out of question for Construct 2?

As it is, right out of the box, it isn't really.

Now there are ways you could still do it.

Wrappers were notified but are still not up to it.

A possible "better" solution could be to provide localhosting on the user's computer. Like he downloads/install a full archive, which is made of the exported project, a localhost executable (ex: mongoose introduced in the forum by chrisbrobs at first) and a .bat file (?) that will launch the mongoose executable as well as go to the local url, launching the default browser in the process.

It needs more refining to be a "working" solution, but I think the idea is there and you could very well, relying on the browser, have a local execution/application in the spirit you were talking about.

  • Kyatric & others - if it didn't detect the card, did the link to Device Manager work and allow you to find the name of the card?

Yup it launches the device manager.

Was that process straightforward to identify + update the driver still?

    It should indeed.

As I said, I've made it so my laptop only works as a local server, cut from internet.

It feels like the driver for my laptop I should get from Toshiba's website anyway, and not Nvidia's.

For now I'm not really wanting to update those anyway, I have a small harddrive on this computer, and hardly execute (graphical) applications on it.

  • 0plus1: then you should report this bug to chrome.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • You can edit the file "preview.html" in the folder c2\exporters\html5 to have this working in preview mode.

But you would have to remember to edit it again if you want on to make another project not using said pinch, or targeted at desktop.

  • Nor have "over the hills" internet speed.

  • Thanks,i'm using R74(wainting for a a more stable version

: the very latest version (r79.4) is the latest stable version.

You really should update to it.

  • IIRC, mouse scroll wheel is not part of the HTML5 spec.

I could (hope) to be wrong though.

Apparently though. JQuery has a plugin to handle the scrolling mousewheel.

That would be cool indeed if Ashley could have a look into it and managed "mixing" it in the mouse plugin.

  • You should check for errors in your browser.

Such a freeze might be caused by missing files (image/sounds) on the server's end.

The result of the browser's consoles should help figure it out.

  • I guess it is the same as the Browser plugin "Is online", "On went online" and "On went offline" conditions ?

If so, prefer using the browser plugin.

I won't list this plugin on the list for now as it's better to use the built-in plugin in that case.

If the functions provided by your plugin are different than those of the browser object, then I'll list it.

  • Tried it on my desktop computer, it worked. Found the graphic card, the drivers and the fact it appears up to date.

On my laptop (Xp Sp3, GeForce4 420 Go (Toshiba), not plugged to internet) it displayed the "we can't find your graphic card" message.

No big deal here, I'm not planning to play games on it. (local server)

  • I think this is a "global" problem. Atm only the forum seems accessible.

    Tom will/is surely fixing it.

    Let us be patient.

  • Check the how do I FAQ at the section "AJAX" indeed.

Sorry, I don't think russian documentation is available on this subject atm.
