  • Also if you're in win7, make sure that in the audio mixer, the sound for your browser is set to a comfortable volume.

In your systray, click the "speaker" icon, and then "Mixer".

The different applications for which you can modify the volume have each a volume channel. Make sure that the channel with the browser you're using as an icon is set to a high volume, and that the master volume is set to a good volume too.

Else, as naelian said, there might be an issue with the record volume of your samples, if so, try to normalize them in a sound editor, making sure they are louder but don't make the speakers saturate (no peaks over 0 db).

  • I can't reproduce neither in FF or Chrome.

In both browsers it works as expected for me.

  • I've just made a quick export, and where I expected jpg, I only had one jpg.

Did you make the export in a folder you already had exported in before ?

If so, the png copies might be some "legacy" as, on export, the destination folder isn't cleared.

  • zsangerous: You should also learn to rename files in your OS.

Basic knowledge like this is required to make proper games. Know your tools !

  • Saving and sharing projects in the official manual.

Simply open your project and "save as single file".

As for discounts, C2 used to be discount in the "early adopter" period.

I don't think Scirra is planning a discount any time soon. Better wait for Ashley or Tom to confirm though.

  • C2 interfaces the javascript for you.

You can either use the sprite plugin to display an image (the sprite object uses a textures set to allow you to display animations or "store" still images in each frame) or the tiled background plugin that will repeat a single texture on all its visible surface/size.

I strongly suggest you to have a look through the beginner's guide and how to make a platform game which are two beginner's tutorials which fully display the method of work in C2, using the most used/useful built-in plugin to make a fully working game.

  • The policy is that english is the language that is spoken by the staff and moderators, so content in english can be checked and moderated whereas informations in other languages can't be.

I'm not a native english-speaker myself, but I don't consider the "english-only" to be discriminatory, especially considering the communities page that lists links to regional forums.

Scirra is aware that not everyone can speak english, but on the other hand, people have also to remember that Scirra is a small two-men company and that moderators are "volunteers".

We don't have ressources to handle different languages for now.

It's planned that tutorials would someday be available in different languages, and the very fact that the C2 IDE is to be translatable in the long term is another display that the "issue" is being considered anyway.

  • In the case of C2, it would mean that the IDE would need to be multiplatform and open-source. And that's just not the case, so C2 games can't qualify for the entry criterias.

  • PixelMonkey's linked to a thread on their forum.

I don't know if the "Bart" account is an official one, but so far the answer is "C2 games are probably not accepted".

Once again, to obtain a clear and definite answer, it might be worth posting on the forum of the cup and keeping pressure until someone from the judges/staff/official gives a definite answer.
