  • Thank you again Chris, it was a very nice event.

Just letting everyone know they can find the presentation and example (with sources) in this article on my website.

    Thanks again for the opportunity.

  • finnyfound: Sounds like a topic that doesn't exist anymore.

So I just removed this element from the list.

  • Not sure if this can be done, but mail support [at] scirra (dot) com and see if this can be handled.

  • R186.2

  • publiadds: you can find all rexrainbow's addons on his own repository/website : http://c2rexplugins.weebly.com/.

You might want to contact him directly if you're still missing the addon you're looking for.

  • Why do you need an Internet connection when running on a local port and IP?

You don't and it is totally unrelated. Same as having outdated flash player doesn't impact C2 at all, it just impacts your browser and shouldn't be an issue when previewing HTML5 anyway.

All I can think of for the low startup is the startup page of C2 since it is based on IE.

Make a test, disable the startup page from the preferences, disable the WI-FI and launch C2 again.

Do you see an improvement ? If you do, it is safe to assume it is the lack of internet that slows down IE's browser and C2's startup page as such.

If you can spare that startup page, remove it from the preferences and you shouldn't have issues any more.

  • Make sure to get the NW.JS package provided by Scirra : https://www.scirra.com/nwjs

Make sure to possibly uninstall previous packages before installing a new one.

Then, whenever you will set the "Preview browser" property of a project to "NW.JS" (in most recent beta version. In previous stable it could still be "Node-Webkit") then the installed NW.JS package will be used.

This only works if you are using a valid C2 license.

  • Moved and added to list.

  • finnyfound: If you could tell what links are missing that would be a great help, thank you.

In case some topics seems to miss/be badly linked check the URL (by putting the mouse over) and try to use the name of the topic in the URL in the advanced search (not just regular, be sure to go in advanced) and search for those terms.

The search engine of the forum is now far more practical and efficient than the old one and can display even the older threads without having to check a special option that most would miss.

If you want to use Construct 2 buy it now. Construct 3 has no release date yet and shouldn't be out yet before a year or so.

  • zenox is right.

And you also need to check the collision box for your sprite.

On the Start object for example, set it to bouding box for example.

  • Two years ago I had published a tutorial about something similar.

Stuff is, when providing that kind of help/taking that role in a community you end up only seeing this part of the community, the entitled, the excited, etc...

For one person who asks to be spoon-fed, there is fortunately a big number of persons who will search by themselves and get to learn on they own thanks to the already existing documentation. And this part of the community, the lurkers who never post in the forums are still likely grateful and working hard.

They are just far less vocal about it and visible to veterans.

  • Looking at that wikipedia page SIN is expected to return a result in RADIANS, sin() in Construct 2 takes and returns degrees, that may be where the difference is coming from.

Using windows' calculator in scientific mode, I actually do find out the very same result: 0.0274121336 (keys : [1]

[PI] [0.5] [=] [sin]) (calc being set in "Degrees" mode, set in "Radians" it returns 1 as well.)

  • Try Construct 3

  • Moved and duplicate deleted.

Although the remaining version is missing a capx be sure to edit to add it.
