  • I'm at work but I'll definitely check these out over the weekend. Keep it up!

  • I'm along the same lines as .

Its great striving to achieve the next advancement or next upgrade because you don't need to wait 37 hours for it. All you have to do is play the game for 10 mins and you can get it.

If you plan on making a game like this then one very important thing is depth. You'll need lots of things for the player to achieve and make sure that there is enough there to keep them interested for long periods of time.

Game Dev Tycoon and Game Dev Story both contain hours of playtime.

The challenge comes when you need to keep the player interested that whole time.

  • Thanks for the info

Saving that link for when I have a project completed

  • Looks good

Definitely might be getting this for use in an upcoming project.

Would be similar to nuclear throne. Only in the sense of camera perspective and random level generation.

I just realized that you made Robot 505. I remember playing it awhile back, it's a really good game and definitely an inspiration. Also a great example of what C2 is capable of. So good work and keep it up!

I'm curious, did you use Pixel Edit for those assets or another program? Or maybe they were done by someone else?

I'm trying to get into Aseprite since it looks like it has a lot of great features but I am in the same boat as you. It's style and layout can be... difficult.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Thanks for sharing.

Lots of these are kind of obvious when you actually stop to think about it.

Good stuff to keep in mind during any game development.

  • Thanks ! I'll definitely get good use out of these.

  • I was just debating using PS for pixel art and how well it would work. But I agree with you that this seems like it would be a lot more streamlined.

One that I have used a little and is free is : piskelapp.com

And another paid one which looks nice is: pickleeditor.com

Also lets not forget this one which is great for animating : aseprite.org

  • Thanks for this. I remember seeing it a long time ago when it was in alpha I believe.

Definitely a nice looking and functioning pixel art tool.

  • Looks Great!

Defiantly a good asset back for a simplistic style.

  • Hello!

I have dabbled in construct 2 for along time and also have some experience with game maker.

I've gone back and forth on both but I am leaning more towards C2 .

There are more examples of full/finished games with Gamemaker.

But I think C2 has just as much potential to be great. I want to make a game that becomes the example for what C2 is capable of.

There is always more to learn and I am by no means an expert; but someday I hope to be.

Making games has always been a dream of mine and just recently I have begun to pursue that dream with everything I've got.

    Tyler ~
