  • Or you could uninstall C2 and boot your PC again. Now install C2 this might repair some damaged files

    Already tried half a dozen times, and redownloading C2 to reinstall & updating directx & updating all possible drivers & reinstaled windows .

  • Yes, tried both and still can not. This is what the post is about as I can not change no matter what I do. Will try again once I install a dedicated GPU.something wrong somewhere and I have no clue how to rectify.

  • I'm trying to rename layer 0 as background.

  • OK, tried the F2 approach, no result. Guess I'll wait until I get my dedicated GPU before trying again.

  • When was the last time you updated your graphic driver?

    What OS are you using?

    Can you open and run any of the included examples or templates?

    This has all the hallmarks of a broken graphic driver problem.

    Updated Intel HD 4600 yesterday, will try again incase.

    OS is Windows 7 pro 64 bit

    I did open the examples but only got a still pjcture so left, not sure how to open properly.

  • At the bottom if properties bar it says:

    Layer

    Layer this object instance is currently on.

  • I right clicked on layer 0 and it gave me options:

    Floating

    Docking

    Tabbed document

    Auto hide(faint)

    Hide

  • No, I can only open properties bar and change size and position. I can't access layers even though it is ticked on top.

  • Wow, as a newbie I would have thought someone would point out my stupid mistake and I could move on, lesson learnt.

    This is definately not meeting up with advertising of being simple, quick and easy!

  • Screen shot, sure. Bug report sure. But I have no idea what third party stuff it means?!

    I've only got construct open, nothing else.

    I'm using construct offline. Does this have an effect?

    No dedicated GPU (just the Intel HD integrated GPU ) for next couple of weeks, so does this have an effect I'm not aware of?

    I've reinstalled construct 2 multiple times & gone over the directions hundreds of times.

    Nothing will allow me to rename "layer 0". Why?

    When I try to run layout, I get the following message:

    "Javascript error!

    Object doesn't support this property or method

    HTTP: //localhost:.50000/preview_prelude.js, line 170 (col undefined)

    This is likely a bug in construct 2 or a third party plugin or behavior - please report it to the developer. Subsequent errors will be logged on the console. "

  • And I should add its so hard and laggy getting on this forum. Sometimes impossible. Why is that? I can scrap other sites at the same time without issue. The server here struggling to cope with traffic?

    I've tried everything and yes layers is ticked. All I can think there is a bug as when I clicked the run icon I was told there is a bug and should report it.

    Wow, only on step 2 and wasted 2 days following instructions. I can alter all other settings except layers!
