  • Hi All,

I'm still learning and tinkering with a side scrolling game. I'm using a new layout for each level. I want to have the control layer from Layout_A (Level1) copied and pasted into Layout_B (Level2), so that everything stays in the exact position.

I did a work around by shift selecting all of the individual objects within the layer from Layout_A and pasted them into a new controls layer in Layout_B. However when I did the the positions were off slightly and I had to eyeball them back into place.

If there's a way to copy and paste a layer so that all the objects within that layer stay relative and in the same position....could someone let me know. Or, if there's a better way of doing this (without numerically inputting each objects co-ordinates) I would appreciate it.

    Cheers.

  • Thanks David.

    That makes complete sense.

  • Hi,

I've started making a platform like game. I've used edgeMarkers to prevent the non-player/enemy characters from falling off their platforms. I want my player character to be able to move or fall through these edgeMarkers, otherwise he's able to stand on them (giving him the apperance of floating), or they block his actions.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Again, I`m pretty new to this (almost a week). Is there a way to group events after you`ve made them (like a bulk cut and paste). My event sheet is a little unruly, and I was hoping to do some house cleaning.

    Cheers.

  • Hi Knifegrinder and Ashley,

Thanks for the thorough responses. It was very helpful. Knifegrinder, when you mentioned it was good to avoid large tiled backgrounds with CocoonJS. Are you referring to the actual size of the image being tiled, or the number of tiles being used?

    Cheers.

  • Hi All,

I'm new to all of this.   I'm testing on my Nexus 7 in mobile chrome. I was wondering why there is such a discrepancy in FPS when using the Test Over LAN feature compared to cocoonJS. With Test Over LAN my frame rates seem very similar to my desktop.   However, I only seem to be getting 14 FPS when testing with cocoon's launch app for android. Which is more accurate?

Is this a common issue? I'm hoping for some clarification.

Secondly. Are there Test Over LAN issues with the iphone5 running IOS6? It doesn't seem to want to load, where as my Nexus 7 works fine. If anyone has run across this, or has a solution, that would be great.

    Many thanks.

    Kris.
