  • Wow just loaded Mortar Melon...graphics are very well done and fun game as well

  • If you can get a .xap file from the phonegap build tools you can then deploy that xap file directly into the emulator using the WP7 deployment tools that are free to download at create.msdn.com/en-US

  • Once again thanks for all the responses. Microsoft did not task me with reaching out to the Construct2 community. I decided to do that as I am very excited by the product and what it can do. I am based just outside of Chicago so naturally connecting with the US people first seems like a good idea although as a British guy I am of course looking to connect with any Scirra devloper who will consider targetting our platforms.

In fact this morning I presented Scirra to my teams here at Microsoft. In addition as there were a few people with Birthdays I decided to build something with Construct2. So over an hour I read the tutorials then ended up building the next mega game - Birthday Blaster! :-)

Now that I have code running my next task is to work with phone gap build to see what the output looks like.

It was interesting last night that I only went halfway through the tutorial then switched into click and try mode and finished the game

Great tool and I will keep responding on this thread as we learn more.

  • Please read the entire thread, of course being based in the USA my first interest is reaching out to the community I am responsible for. However once we have worked out the technicalities of course we will reach out to a wider global audience.

  • Hello

Over the next few days I will be taking a Construct2 app and feeding it into phonegap to see how well it performs on Phone 7. So far I have seen impressive performance with construct2 and Canvas2d on our Windows Phone 7 platform. In addition and to be totally open I personally have have stunned with the quality of many titles here on scirra.com. Ashley and team is attracting great talent in both gaming and graphics. If we can wrap a construct2 title somehow for Windows Phone 7 it would be awesome. I will let you know what I find. Perhaps for example we can a competition where we specify how a phone app can work with Construct2 and see what is delivered.

Either way I am very pleased to have come across scirra.com

  • To all those asking why USA only? As many guessed I am assigned to the USA market. Although for Windows Phone 7 I am based in Central ie Chicago my reach out is to anyone in the USA. That said if we can make this work then we would of course want to do the same in any country where Windows Phone 7 has a marketplace.

I will be reading through this entire thread this evening US Central time but wanted to get this response out quickly to ensure everyone realises that what I want is to enable Construct tool developers to get their apps onto Microsoft marketplaces

    thanks and more later

  • Hello

I talked with Ashley and he agreed to let me post this:

I work for Microsoft in the USA and specifically on Windows Phone 7. We have been very impressed with how well many Construct2 games work when loaded on a Windows Phone 7 browser and in addition the high quality we are seeing in terms of original games.

My question to you all is how many of you Scirra / Construct2 guys are based in the USA? If we could find a way to package up a Construct2 game perhaps using phonegap would you have interest in getting your game into the Windows Phone 7 marketplace?.

Ashley and his team are building a great product for building apps and I would like to connect with any of you who are in the USA to see if we can get more of this great content over to Windows Phone 7.
